It's funny because TheExodu5 role pm says that "Kark has been acting weird and sketchy all day"

"scum will certainly kill/infect this person we are talking about possibly setting up a future lynch for and will almost certainly be the target of any potential watchers/doctors night 1"

I'll admit that's actually a very good reads list from Kark.

That would not surprise me. It's the easy option after all.

It seems weird to be so open about histories this early in the game without knowing if there's any mechanic tied to them or not.

It would help town to share all there histories. But most of the vanilla's don't know anything too useful.

I don't want everything spoiled right away, but can I get a few details or hints on how the disease actually works?

there are 2 stage 2 infected players at game start.
at night they can either infect one player which turns them into a stage 1 araxoid. or they can order a stage 1 araxoid to perform a night kill.
there's no way to progress from stage 1 to stage 2. that's a bit of a red herring. I needed to explain that there were two stages without giving too much away.

So there is definitely some kind of misdirection going on with the Araxometer?

a little bit. it's the percentage of infected players.
2 means more than 20% of players infected.
3 means more than 30% of players infected etc.
|
|
|
Post by karkador on Jan 29, 2017 14:04:36 GMT -8
PERCENTAGE, fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck

Post by karkador on Jan 29, 2017 21:47:47 GMT -8
So two araxids at the start of the game.
2/20, 10%, meter reads 1
They infect a new person n1,
3/20, 15%, meter reads...1...
But Day 2 started with the meter at 2
So they infect twice, and Day 2 had four infected.
Likewise, there would be up to two NKs per night?

But I guess L1 Infected aren't part of the actual scum team? They're just pawns and a means to the win condition?
|
|
|
Post by dusksoldier on Jan 30, 2017 2:30:40 GMT -8
yes, that's correct. They could potentially kill two players.
And the players they infect don't make any of the hard decisions. They just become pawns.

|
Post by karkador on Jan 30, 2017 4:30:42 GMT -8
Do they know they are scum? Does their win condition change?
|
|
|
Post by dusksoldier on Jan 30, 2017 5:14:26 GMT -8
Yes, they're given the scum win condition, and the identity of the person that infected them.

|
Post by crimsonfist on Jan 30, 2017 8:31:02 GMT -8
Does town only need to take out the original scum to win? Or all the infected?
|
|
|
Post by dusksoldier on Jan 30, 2017 8:50:25 GMT -8
They need to take out everyone, but the infected will die automatically if the originals die. So they need to focus on finding the originals.

Really wondering if Town has enough tools to do this.
I guess Fran's thing really was a cure, but the whole thing with the Mason claim still makes little sense to me, as far as the way they used it.

I did throw in a lot of anti-scum tools. But since the initial scum team was small I gave them a minor heads up, so that they wouldn't feel the game was rigged against them.
I think knowing out of the gate that they can't simply just infect two randoms each night, has made them a bit more dangerous than I planned for.
And yeah, fran and fat4all's claims seem off to you because they are definitely bullshitting everyone.

Really curious to see how this game goes from here. I'm no longer there to hide behind, but the Araxometer has moved "as expected".
