That's odd because I got two just like it looks like most people did. You're basically saying you know the names of two groups of people? No? I received a role PM with my own real name and alignment and I received a relationship PM that told me some number of other people's names. Could you please point out that post that is telling you that I got a PM with two different groups of people?

True, you can see that no fuckery was involved when it came to who got the same message as you though Kark could have easily just sent a second PM of the same to someone else so idk how much that is worth. Sounds like you got a second relationship message. Of course probably everyone got a role pm and one relationship pm, duh'... That was not what I was referring to, you mentioned the second pm with group names.

I'm in a group of 2 so I will most likely give the book to them before anybody else. Although, I don't really think that it means that they are necessarily not Kira.
Also, there are three (what I assume) real names in book that I received. But before I give out the book would anybody be against me putting out the initials of the names?

Sounds like (what it is but I'm sure my bias is showing since I know what I said) I gave a hypothetical to explain why what you mentioned doesn't matter. Yes, I see my group member's names on the message that was sent but there is no guarantee that Ouro, as an example, got the exact same PM with my real name and the real name of those in group with me because Kark could have just as easily sent a seperate PM. I'm in a group of 2 so I will most likely give the book to them before anybody else. Although, I don't really think that it means that they are necessarily not Kira. No, knowing that there are 3 names is more than enough. They are either fakes or Kark/RNG already chose some people to die before the game started. Each person who gets the book should report how many names are written down though. As each of us get it, we'll see the names anyway so initials right now aren't going to mean much.

What if scum can rewrite one name?

What if scum can rewrite one name? One of the last people with the book can confirm that with Oceanic. I don't doubt that Kira could potentially erase or re-write entries (though once a name is written, by flavor, they should die even if it gets erased) but that's a bridge we can cross then, no reason to release information now on the extremely low probability that we don't hand the book to Kira at all today.

Since the command to give it away is public, that would out your partner. Of course, we don't really know if that matters or not, but it is something to keep in mind.

What? What are you talking about? We all will get the book, if only the last one will compare with Oceanic we lose every step in between and can't restore to the origin. Why would you won't those names to not be revealed? They are already in the book, we all will get the book, no harm is done UNLESS somebody (you possibly?) can change the names already written down. What's the benefit of not revealing the content of the book?

Going by the setup, there shouldn't be any power roles in play aside from Kira, and we should all see the book, with the exception of whoever gets lynched. The names are already in the book, so if they are actual player names, those people are dead regardless. I'm not seeing a disadvantage to revealing them.

What's the benefit of not revealing the content of the book? What? When you pass the death note, do you lose access to the PM Kark sent you? It's not hard to cross reference later on. Right now you are forming a plan based soley on Oceanic's word and understanding of what he has. It means nothing.

I'd rather see the contents for myself then have it spread to everyone at once. Oceanic isn't even sure they are real names which tells me that him and his partner's names aren't even in that book. I'd like to at least wait and see what happens when someone gets the book and they know a name in there is real.

Maybe the names in the book are people who are already dead. Unless someone sees their own name in the book, there's no reason to assume there will be multiple deaths. The real names I know are weird. And I wonder what sort of name generator karkador used to get them. I didn't see them in the list of death note characters on Wikipedia. I have no experience with the flavor so can't go by familiarity.

If he put in one real name and two fake names.

Well sorry, went back and re-read the post. He didn't say Kira could only kill one person, what he said was: - I'm taking back what I said about Kira being able to kill multiple targets in one round. For the sake of the test's simplicity, I've reworked it, so completely disregard that. I'm drunk and I'm going home.
So slightly different but I don't see another way to construe that.

So us having completely made up names is pretty logical.

I'm hoping this makes more sense once we've all had a turn, or at least when I've had a turn. Not really sure what to do until then.
Hey Roy, are you scum?

Re: Splinter Not exactly sure what I could possibly gain by writing three names in the book on the first or where I'd get them from. But yeah, not exactly the most crazy with gambits.
I see what you're saying Sorian, which is why I didn't want to put out full names, just the initials. Whoever gets it next will see the full names anyway and if any shenanigans along happen along the way then we can source it. Also, this could keep people honest in case someone can switch names or something

The paper trail won't be hard to follow regardless with only one bad guy so dropping hints now or doing a full check of the path near the end of the day probably leads to the same result. The probably is my only concern though because we don't know what else is working behind the scenes.

Also, why should there only be one scum? The sample PM says that we win when we eliminate all of the forces of kira. Which would sound as if more than one scum exists.

Oh gosh. I just realized I can't vote to kill anyone. Why is it not possible for me to write a real name in the book should I receive it? What if I had a good read on who kira is? I can't just kill them for the sake of town, I have to convince everyone to not give them the book?

Kark said only Kira would be involved but unless I am missing it, he never actually said that in this thread. There are no PRs though, he did say that from start. So I guess there could be a player helping Kira but is not kill capable?

Opening post reads like there's just one Kira, although I did question it before the game started and I don't think Kark actually answered.
