Wait, they didn't even know each other? Yeah, that's broken. They knew each other, they didn't know each other's real names (I think)

Wait, they didn't even know each other? Yeah, that's broken. They knew each other's roles and usernames, but not realnames. It was an oversight on my part. I didn't really consider that scum killing each other (or at least, putting each other in a lot of danger) would be the major strategy.

It's so Fire could have killed us if we got out of line, right? #Gambit2016 Can one man have all this power? I would have killed Splinter day 1. A Scum Team that kills together each other, stays together. Wait, they didn't even know each other? Yeah, that's broken. They knew each other's roles and usernames, but not realnames. It was an oversight on my part. I didn't really consider that scum killing each other (or at least, putting each other in a lot of danger) would be the major strategy. The only use of Scum knowing each others name would be so they could claim to be a group but that wouldn't really work out. They would instantly get called out by the other groups. "Wait, Fire is in our group how can he be grouped with Splinter?" sort of thing. I was joking about team killing but I guess it could be a strategy?? At least it might get Town to think there is a Neutral somewhere. But that wouldn't be worth the kill or lost partner, not to mention whoever wrote down the name would get caught instantly.

Fire betrayed me. He could have written Moist Machine in the book yesterday

I think it would be fun to try running a straight game of Mafia de Cuba (a real. retail game that this game is sort of based on). Also, I'm Cuban-descended, so there's a bias on the name alone.

Both my parents were born in Cuba and moved to New York after their obligatory stay in Miami, is the plot twist that we are related?

If GAFIA finds out we're related, we're going to be exiled from another home.

On one hand, I wanted to see the game break, so I could know what types of things the power roles needed to do to provide enough confusion, but stuff like the game-breaking "if chief is scum" thing I didn't expect I think Chief just needs to be the equivalent to an innocent child in the real game. Why tie it to a role and not have people vote on the chief?

I think Chief just needs to be the equivalent to an innocent child in the real game. Why tie it to a role and not have people vote on the chief? The interesting piece of the chief role is that they start with it every single day (until they die). It loses it's appeal (to me at least) if it gets voted on everyday and having everyone vote on it day 1 for said person to always be the chief going forward feels more like an awkward popularity contest than a game mechanic.

In order to make room for upcoming games, I will be moving this thread to the "Game Ideas" board.

I look forward to future possibilities with this.

Wasn't there a spec thread for this somewhere? Nope, I asked the same thing. There were people asking to be spectators but it was just so they could actually see the game, no spec thread was ever made.
