Even lurking scum post more than them. And being busy isn't alignment indicative. Blarg, kawl, scrafty, Kalor, nin are my choices, in that order. Is Blarg still mainly a policy lynch or do you have him as your number one scum? It is both policy and the fact that he has contributed nothing to this thread. How could I possibly read him based on his posts so far? Best case scenario, we lynch him and he's scum. Worst case we lose a destructive town member. This is the best we could hope for on day one. I am tired of people giving him a complete pass for not contributing when I get voted for ~not contributing enough~ Headed out for a bit, but I'll be around for deadline. |

Lord knows I've been frustrated at times when speccing him, but what I don't get is you're using the contributed nothing to this thread excuse for him, but you're allowing a pass for tb, karu, LP, Launch, Pop. I'll let Launch and Pop be allowed since they're still in another game, but why did you just assume tb,karu and LP are legit and not just lurking scum? Now do I think you're a scum just hiding your scum buddies in among that list? No. That would be pretty dumb, and frankly most of that list have not had heat on them yet. I just want you to accept those players as inactives for an unknown reason, trying to give them potential reasons isn't particularly useful to us and makes you look like you're covering. I haven't really talked about Scrafty, but that's because I'm not really sure. It's pretty much a gut read of town right now, there's some oddity within her posts. I'd probably not vote for her today though. |

The difference is blarg has posted a lot and clearly is reading what is going on without actually contributing whereas the others have posted like three times tops and not recently. There are others who I have called out for being here without contributing, like nin and kalor, so I fail to see how that is inconsistent. Even after calling blarg out he comes in to post a lot of nothing.

So I'm going to move my vote to Ridli for now purely since a large portion of what they have posted has been mechanics talk. Then when they talk about something else it's about Sorian and their comment about using on the tie on him and Sorian just feels like it comes out of left field. Personally I don't see the benefit to a Sorian lynch today and even if he does know something his role pm wouldn't necessarily state what it is.

Blarg is a tough nut in my book. Since he can post normally if he wants to, the thing is he will only do it if he is forced to. At this stage and only on D1 i doubt we will get anything from him.
I can certanly understand those that want him gone in order to clean this game up a bit, on the other side i can understand those that want to keep him for now.

Ok then please answer these two questions. 1 is optional. If you are town and it would hurt to answer, do not answer. 1. What are you (NOT ROLE CLAIM. DO NOT GIVE ROLE. ONLY NAME)? 2. What or who are we up against? Wait, are we not allowed to talk about even our role names? Or is it just that doing so may be extremely unwise? Kalor should probably fully claim at least, if we're planning on lynching him. I'd also like to remind people of these three posts. CF asks for Kalor's full claim waaaaaaaaaaay before it was a done deal. I also find it hard to believe CB doesn't realize name claiming and role claiming can be the same thing. I believe it's imperative that everyone places a vote before dusk falls. The sheer volume of people here means that it is simply too easy for someone to disappear into the crowd without letting any strong opinion show, and we will certainly need to use voting records in the future to decipher who among us is a problem.

While I don't feel great about Lone, tb, karu, launch, or pop not posting, it feels more like them being busy rather than trying to blend. Likely wouldn't vote unless to break a tie. We have better options and wouldn't learn much. I'm truly sorry, but I wasn't able to participate this weekend besides my earlier posts and read the thread (my god..), but with weekend's end this will change. I'll be able to post more indepth thought in about 3 hours, which will leave me with plenty a time till the Days deadline. To give a quick overview of my thoughts from reading the thread once (possibly many summarize-like thoughts right now, sorry) -> Sorian still hasn't answered/acknowledged me. Will hold out with a "definitive" assessment until then. -> Would not kill LoC right now. If nothing happens tomorrow, he's up. Possible scum-advantage trigger for him? Eh, wouldn't make much sense to go so offensive about it, I would assume. -> Would not kill Xam right now. Only thing worrying me is a big scum team, which allows a big varience of playstyles. Before I misclick on my phone and everything's lost, this will do for this post  |

Alright lets get some posts started here:
First a quick analysis of activity as of about 9 am CST time for this last day.
We have 5 outliers on the active side: Xam (an outlier even among the outliers), Sorian and LoC (in the middle of the top outliers), and RoytheOne and Cabot (a nice OTP just barely above the cutoff for medium activity).
After Cabot we have a drop off of ~10 posts after which its a pretty steady decline in the number of posts (you could create another cut off between CzarTim at 38 posts and Blarg at 30 if you want a switch over between medium high activity and medium low activity). In this grouping we have
Medium High Activity (from more to fewer posts): Ty4on, CrimsonFist, nin1000, CornBro, Bombay, Sawneeks, CzarTim
Medium Low Activity (from more to fewer posts): Squidyj, Blargonaut, Swamped, Ridli
I'll arbitarily insert another divide here to enter into the low activity posters with <20 posts in the thread. (Or less than 1/5 the numbers of our top poster Xamthespam)
For the first 4 in the group we see the next peculiarity of the posting count flattening out a bit. This is the area that a few people have jumped on as likely to contain coasting scum.
The noticably flat portion consist of: ScraftyDevil (19), Kawl (18), Mazre (16), Hyperactivity (16), Kalor (15).
I'll get back to my thoughts on this grouping and my thoughts on people's thoughts on this grouping in another posts.
Low activity continues with Zippedpinhead and Ultron87 having posts in the double digits before we slide into the ultra low activity posters (<10 posts)
Ultra low activity: Terrabyte20xx, Dusk Soldier, Trigger, Lone Prodigy, LaunchpadMcQ, Karu
No activity: Pop-o-Matic, Coppanuva.
Some of this may be slightly off due to pre game posts, but thought I would put this together so we can actually be factual when talking about activity levels and involvement here.
TLDR:

Xamthe scumking: So by my Totes Offical Post Breakdown tm I put all 103 of Xam's posts into 44 Fluff posts, 45 posts about Mechanics, and 14 Scum hunt posts. That isn't really surprising as Xam as struck me as a vanilla townie who is playing fast and loose with speculation concerning mechanics and attempting to read into people's apparent lack of knowledge concerning his standard role PM. The high fluff amount is also expected as that's kind of how Xam plays (and I think the reason he gains the ire of many even when town). As for the repeated idea that Xam has purported to have knowledge others don't that he isn't sharing for now I'll point you to these two posts to clear up that misconception: Also, Sawneeks mentioned this, and my theory was that the Spirit Animals corresponded to the Evil Spirits in some way, but that's out of the bag, so I don't have anything else. And right after I post, lol. That's what I thought though, so you're sort of in the clear but LoC/Xam/Kalor are not. I had a theory which I thought would be more destructive for Town than it actually ended up being about the Spirit Animals So, no he isn't withholding anything. Also, some quick reads before I have to do stuff: Town: LoC CrimsonFist Mazre SquidyJ (the saltiest Vanilla Towny) Sorian Scum: Roytheone Xam's readlist for posterity's sake. Roy comes from the discussion concerning win conditions that Xam feels Roy didn't understand. Kind of surprised Kalor's kerfuffle from early in the day doesn't earn him a spot for similiar reasons. Also, the major interesting things I got from looking at Xam's posts besides his penchant for throwing out theories, is his weird interactions with Lord of Castamere. He seems to a)believe the snake god claim and b) think its important for the town to do well. Overall, I think Xam is town from his harping on the town win condition line deal, but I think he may be wrong for taking what LoC is saying at face value and thinking its good for town. But I'll probably get to LoC in more detail in a bit. |
