Oh, and stick to your guns. You'll be immediately suspicious if you backpedal to try to appeal to the masses...it looks too much like scum trying to gain townie trust. Just defend your viewpoint, not yourself, and you'll be fine.

Worst case scenario for us right now is if PK and Style both are suspected, and right now it doesn't look good.

Sorry PK, I'm going after you. It was a really scummy vote and I'd rather start the bandwagon than join it. You won't need to defend yourself. You may not need to defend yourself if a townie slips up and becomes the suspect. But you should get a role claim ready if absolutely necessary. And by that I mean if you're the majority vote with less than an hour to go before the end of the day. We have time to think about it. Until then, just come up with a defense to use if a bunch of people start jumping on the bandwagon. e.g. "Style seemed like the most likely suspect and it seemed better to move the game forward rather than split votes even further". Your defense should not be explaining why you are town, but rather why you think Style is scum. No hard feelings, you're just playing the game. It was my fault for jumping in and putting myself in the field of fire.

It's too early to worry. If one does end up getting lynched it offers credibility to the other.

I'm just gonna drop you off this tip, because Palmer did so for me back in my first game.
PK has a role that could reasonably be believed to be town, in contrast to your other roles. That is: He is a vanilla cop.
If you are in the last hour or so of the day phase, and the heat is still on PK, you can role claim and make town panic. They will usually (but not always) shuffle to find another player at that point, delaying your lynch by at least one day and giving you a chance to use your power.
However, Exodu is right in that you do not want to roleclaim now. Follow his advice and you should be able to get out without having to role claim.
Above all else, don't panic. You've got this. I'm rooting for you!

No worries. Might not end up being a bad play in the end...especially if Styles ends up getting lynched or NKed at some point. I don't think you'll be a serious lynch contender today...pretty sure people will back off. Rats and Rynam are the easy lynch targets right now, and I intend on barrelling down on them before the day ends.

Good post. I think that's all you need for a defense right now. Just leave it at that unless things get really dicey. You're in no danger whatsoever.

I wouldn't even bother responding to plop.
Sorian, FEP, Franco, and WAMD are probably going to start contributing soon. I'd wait until they chime in. Hopefully FEP and Franco go at it.

Alright team, how do I respond to Flux's post
I know I should let it go, but the shonen in me doesn't want to take a post like that lying down

Heh, thanks! I don't care how strong his resolve is, nobody likes having a vote on them.
Hopefully I can agitate him.

Yeah absolutely keep it up. As long as you stay consistent within your character there's nothing scummy about what you're doing, in my eyes.

"So what do you find scummy about Flux, PK? If you want to put some pressure on him, you need to convince the rest of us to vote for him as well."
How do I respond to this?
I was thinking of "I don't think he's scummy, but like sorian pointed out earlier in the thread, it's a good idea to always keep a vote on someone. And there's no way i'm going to pass up on keeping a vote on the guy who's been locked onto me. Maybe I can even get something out of it."

That post. Now that is the PK I know and love. I honestly don't know how to respond to that yet, and it's 05 AM here so I can't come up with a substantial reply. Just wanted to let you know that was well done.

Maybe pin him down on all his talk of a "sacrificial lamb". The fact that he's willing to lynch someone he believes is town. Also maybe push that he's prying too much on SS. Paint it as role fishing because role fishing is usually a scum tell.
I don't know these are just some quick draft thoughts/ideas you could put back with.

I think Flux is super nosey atm and already talking about using someone as a sacrifice this early in the game is a worry furthermore he flies completely under everyone's radar.

Ah crap, forgot to call him out on it.
But maybe that's a good thing? I think it'll land harder if someone else calls him out on it, but just lay low for a while. Anyone immediately coming to my defense is going to look shady.

Post by Style on Nov 16, 2016 21:26:18 GMT -8
Don't call him out on it. I might do it or have already done it. It's a huge scum tell if we use the same word or our rhetoric is too close because they know we are planning this in a scum chat off site.

Why already bring up sacrificing somebody this early in the game, were at 20 now there was no reason to bring this up without some sort of ulterior motive by Flux.

Thinking of posting:
Haha nice try, but no cigar Flux. That's a trap if I ever saw one.
