Posthumous Cop (not a real name)

I posted this in Discord where I was suggested to post it here, so here it is, my late night cop idea.
So this is a cop who investigates every night. The cop doesn't know the results of their investigations. When the cop dies, each investigation result gets distributed randomly amongst the townspeople who were not investigated.
For example, say this cop has results for Person A, Person B, and Person C, and a randomly selected Person 1 gets the results for Person A, Person 2 gets Person B, and Person 3 gets Person C.
Also, A, B, and/or C might already be dead by the time the cop dies too.
I'm not sure if scum should be included in the random selection tho. Also I was thinking that maybe this seems too miller-like or something, like maybe the cop at some point would want town to lynch him. But maybe the cop should just be really useful to town and get scum to kill them. Hmm yeah idk lol
