Yeah, I'm not sure about Squidyj. If he's Mafia, I don't think he would go after someone that ferociously unless he was protecting someone else. Even that is dangerous, since it will come back on him hard if we find out cool or tiger are mafia at any point. If anyone has a way to check Tiger tonight, I think it needs to happen.

Just got in from work, took a short break at work and checked the thread around 15 til deadline and pretty much 'noped' on out seeing that there was all sorts of vote spam going on. Figured I was just as likely to accidentally force a tie as break one posting from a phone. May have very well been the worst case outcome but I think we can be pretty confident that nobody actually knew Visualante2 was a doctor, as a group we just got unlucky.

For the record, if I had cast a vote between V2 and GLT I probably would've cast it for V2 as well, though that's pretty much in a gut check need to break a tie context, I had nothing in particular against him.

Meta Commentary: Interesting that Ouro went with actual characters for power roles. Decent chance that KGB power roles are set up similarly, meaning there a good chance we can expect a Boris (C'mon buddy), a Katia, a Barry (possible neutral serial killer instead?), maybe a Jagov (depending on when in the Archer continuity Ouro wanted to draw inspiration from). Possibly Rudy and Charles as soft aligned like the imperial agents in SW. Non-power roll KGB are always an option too to round out there numbers. All pure speculation and nothing I would build any kind of argument on (meta-theorizing is ultimately folly), but still something in the back of my mind.

So according to Ouro in the general mafia thread, Tiger is getting replaced. I hate to use that knowledge but it likely means he's just a normal townie. Considering he was the one I was most concerned about, it makes me reconsider what we can safely reveal.
What do the other two of you think? I'm like 75% on Mazre being Town, and 70% on Arkos.

I just went through Mazre's posts and I could nitpick but nothing really stood out to me. I will say that 4 of the votes for him disappeared by the end of the "day," and speaking of disappearing he very nicely avoided taking part in any of the chaos today today.
As for Palmer, it will take me longer to read through his posts so I'll have to get back to you on that one. That did make me realize, however, that not only does a high post count just superficially look good, it also makes it much more difficult to do a thorough reading of one's past posts. I'll get back to you with a Palmer read as soon as I have time, either later tonight or some time tomorrow.
RE: power roles - Katia and Barry would both be neutral correct? Or did they break up and Katia go back to Russia in the show, I do need to catch up on some Archer. I'll wiki the characters you mentioned. I'm personally glad that Ouro went with actual character roles

Generally someone with an interesting role will be more likely to stay engaged. Most replacements are likely to be ordinary drones.

Ouro did say it was due to illness, so it may not be that he didn't want to play as an ordinary drone.
I'd say I'm leaning towards the both of you being town for the time being. Arkos is either town or putting on an impressive show, I'll stick with the simpler explanation right now. palmer has played a town game to this point as much as anyone else. All three of us made a similar play in regards to volunteering.
Kinda surprised to see that neither of you received any votes during day 1, though obviously that's not in your guys control.
Votes Disappearing: This actually occurred over several days if you go back and follow the votes. I think I very briefly may have had 4 votes at one point but they started to peel off and I had only 2 going into the end of the 'day'. One of those peeled off at some point. You can also check my posts this past week, I think pretty much all of them are 5:30 PM EDT or later, just the way things lined up for the end of the phase. As I mentioned below I did take a break to see the state of things near the end of the phase but didn't want to inject more confusion into a chaotic situation by trying to participate from my phone.

Yeah that's a bold move just throwing that out there. Obviously I'm new to the mafia deal and apparently claiming roles early is a thing in GAFia, but still. Also not sure why you would claim if you think we're mafia. And to Palmer's point, based on how much the missions were talked about in the regular thread, I would think the mafia will be hesitant to kill anyone on missions at least for a minute.
With Ante being wrongly lynched, that just gives me all the more reason to suspect that his lynch was an attempt to get heat off of GLT/Darryl. A role claim could be a good gambit to come out of the gate with in that situation. I mean, I'm sure at least some other people will be thinking like me, and a role claim makes us hesitant to lynch another power role (if you are Town cop, that is).
Care to share what character your role was based off of? I would think that's allowed, if we're not sure we can ask Ouro.

We only need to keep things quiet if we believe him and/or can verify him. We need to have a code of some type worked out in case he really is the cop, so he can alert us in the main thread without blowing his cover. It can be as simple as his first post of a new day starting with an I if he found a townie, an L if he found a Mafia, and a C if he found a neutral. Then the last person he actually names in his post is the person he investigated.
If we don't trust him and can't verify him, we basically post everything for the town to decide tomorrow.
So far, I do not trust him.

You're committed to it. If one of us is Mafia, you're likely dead within a few nights now anyway. As long as we don't give anything away in the main thread, it will at least help us figure out that Mafia is in here. To completely trust you though, it would be best if we could verify you. How much information do you receive when you investigate?
I also just want to make sure you understand that power roles, as far as we know, have to be used within the mission if you're on it.

Okay, first, welcome Darryl.
Now, onto your roleclaim.
If Darryl is telling the truth:
Small group disclosure makes some sense, cop can't do much on their own, but doesn't want to be openly known. Unless all 3 of us are Mafia your night death for the next couple of nights would paint a potential target on one of us. May also be suspicious if certain players continue to target you (GLT) tomorrow.
If Darryl is lying:
a) May still be town, fishing for reactions or potentially a revenge role
b) May be a KGB cop trying to establish trust
c) May be regular KGB trying to manipulate us into a mistake (seems unlikely since you only really get one shot at this), even with some information from him we may not be able to immediately confirm/expose him

What's everyone thinking about with regards to volunteering on day 2? Disregarding any group strategy, my inclination personally is just to volunteer again at day start and then make an informed decision on whether or not to relinquish the spot.
Seems unlikely that we'll have a clearer consensus on how to decide volunteers tomorrow, I expect a lot of repeated arguments on Sunday evening.

If I catch mafia in am investigation I'm gonna be really subtle at first but if I'm winking it should be obvious that I'm certain they're kgb. Then just help me snowball so that the heat won't be all on me. I'm inclined to think that with my typical low post rate I won't be an immediate eviction target. If you guys stay on night missions it'll be hard for them to get you.

Razmos - Posts feel inconsistant. An attempt to be active for once? Is he stepping out of his comfort zone as mafia?

Sorry I've been busy the past day or so, came up to visit my mom and I'm juggling all that with job search. I'll do my best to devote some time this evening to providing reads on the players that are being discussed in here.
As for the mission / volunteering talk (I'll try to make this easier to read by splitting it up):
I was absolutely not expecting this mission to be so secretive. It seemed to me that the most town thing to do would be to make the mission chat as transparent as possible. The talk about blitzing the volunteer list again tomorrow is throwing me off as well, because I'm sure that would make people unhappy, and probably just make it seem like we were plotting something in here. But then again maybe 4 different people would do the exact same thing (be secretive) and our group knowledge would start to be fragmented (which is why I assumed we would be making it transparent in the first place).

This is a good point. I would probably rule out trying to manipulate us into a mistake because even if it works then we'll come right back at Darryl.

Anyways, since I'm probably gonna not be here till day starts because i'm asleep. Last things to say.
1. I'm claiming because the value of an investigator with an extended group that can post all findings is incredibly valuable. I last 5 days, relay 5 align reads before people (including you guys) get suspicious and axe me. My role is revealed. You guys translate the reads I made back to town. We now have known town.
The value of that far outweighs any value that I have as an individual. I will unlikely sway voters during the early game as it is, so this is better than a spontaneous midgame role reveal.
2. After each night, I'll comment on whoever I picked as my target and either bold something randomly or use an emoticon. Probably the first or second post of the day.
If you want to suggest a target, bold something I suppose. But I will probably pick them myself because I wanna have fun too!!

Meta Commentary: Interesting that Ouro went with actual characters for power roles. Decent chance that KGB power roles are set up similarly, meaning there a good chance we can expect a Boris (C'mon buddy), a Katia, a Barry (possible neutral serial killer instead?), maybe a Jagov (depending on when in the Archer continuity Ouro wanted to draw inspiration from). Possibly Rudy and Charles as soft aligned like the imperial agents in SW. Non-power roll KGB are always an option too to round out there numbers. All pure speculation and nothing I would build any kind of argument on (meta-theorizing is ultimately folly), but still something in the back of my mind.

So according to Ouro in the general mafia thread, Tiger is getting replaced. I hate to use that knowledge but it likely means he's just a normal townie. Considering he was the one I was most concerned about, it makes me reconsider what we can safely reveal.
What do the other two of you think? I'm like 75% on Mazre being Town, and 70% on Arkos.

I just went through Mazre's posts and I could nitpick but nothing really stood out to me. I will say that 4 of the votes for him disappeared by the end of the "day," and speaking of disappearing he very nicely avoided taking part in any of the chaos today today.
As for Palmer, it will take me longer to read through his posts so I'll have to get back to you on that one. That did make me realize, however, that not only does a high post count just superficially look good, it also makes it much more difficult to do a thorough reading of one's past posts. I'll get back to you with a Palmer read as soon as I have time, either later tonight or some time tomorrow.
RE: power roles - Katia and Barry would both be neutral correct? Or did they break up and Katia go back to Russia in the show, I do need to catch up on some Archer. I'll wiki the characters you mentioned. I'm personally glad that Ouro went with actual character roles

Generally someone with an interesting role will be more likely to stay engaged. Most replacements are likely to be ordinary drones.

I'd say I'm leaning towards the both of you being town for the time being. Arkos is either town or putting on an impressive show, I'll stick with the simpler explanation right now. palmer has played a town game to this point as much as anyone else. All three of us made a similar play in regards to volunteering.
Kinda surprised to see that neither of you received any votes during day 1, though obviously that's not in your guys control.
Votes Disappearing: This actually occurred over several days if you go back and follow the votes. I think I very briefly may have had 4 votes at one point but they started to peel off and I had only 2 going into the end of the 'day'. One of those peeled off at some point. You can also check my posts this past week, I think pretty much all of them are 5:30 PM EDT or later, just the way things lined up for the end of the phase. As I mentioned below I did take a break to see the state of things near the end of the phase but didn't want to inject more confusion into a chaotic situation by trying to participate from my phone.

Yeah that's a bold move just throwing that out there. Obviously I'm new to the mafia deal and apparently claiming roles early is a thing in GAFia, but still. Also not sure why you would claim if you think we're mafia. And to Palmer's point, based on how much the missions were talked about in the regular thread, I would think the mafia will be hesitant to kill anyone on missions at least for a minute.
With Ante being wrongly lynched, that just gives me all the more reason to suspect that his lynch was an attempt to get heat off of GLT/Darryl. A role claim could be a good gambit to come out of the gate with in that situation. I mean, I'm sure at least some other people will be thinking like me, and a role claim makes us hesitant to lynch another power role (if you are Town cop, that is).
Care to share what character your role was based off of? I would think that's allowed, if we're not sure we can ask Ouro.

We only need to keep things quiet if we believe him and/or can verify him. We need to have a code of some type worked out in case he really is the cop, so he can alert us in the main thread without blowing his cover. It can be as simple as his first post of a new day starting with an I if he found a townie, an L if he found a Mafia, and a C if he found a neutral. Then the last person he actually names in his post is the person he investigated.
If we don't trust him and can't verify him, we basically post everything for the town to decide tomorrow.
So far, I do not trust him.

You're committed to it. If one of us is Mafia, you're likely dead within a few nights now anyway. As long as we don't give anything away in the main thread, it will at least help us figure out that Mafia is in here. To completely trust you though, it would be best if we could verify you. How much information do you receive when you investigate?
I also just want to make sure you understand that power roles, as far as we know, have to be used within the mission if you're on it.

Okay, first, welcome Darryl.
Now, onto your roleclaim.
If Darryl is telling the truth:
Small group disclosure makes some sense, cop can't do much on their own, but doesn't want to be openly known. Unless all 3 of us are Mafia your night death for the next couple of nights would paint a potential target on one of us. May also be suspicious if certain players continue to target you (GLT) tomorrow.
If Darryl is lying:
a) May still be town, fishing for reactions or potentially a revenge role
b) May be a KGB cop trying to establish trust
c) May be regular KGB trying to manipulate us into a mistake (seems unlikely since you only really get one shot at this), even with some information from him we may not be able to immediately confirm/expose him

What's everyone thinking about with regards to volunteering on day 2? Disregarding any group strategy, my inclination personally is just to volunteer again at day start and then make an informed decision on whether or not to relinquish the spot.
Seems unlikely that we'll have a clearer consensus on how to decide volunteers tomorrow, I expect a lot of repeated arguments on Sunday evening.

If I catch mafia in am investigation I'm gonna be really subtle at first but if I'm winking it should be obvious that I'm certain they're kgb. Then just help me snowball so that the heat won't be all on me. I'm inclined to think that with my typical low post rate I won't be an immediate eviction target. If you guys stay on night missions it'll be hard for them to get you.

Sorry I've been busy the past day or so, came up to visit my mom and I'm juggling all that with job search. I'll do my best to devote some time this evening to providing reads on the players that are being discussed in here.
As for the mission / volunteering talk (I'll try to make this easier to read by splitting it up):
I was absolutely not expecting this mission to be so secretive. It seemed to me that the most town thing to do would be to make the mission chat as transparent as possible. The talk about blitzing the volunteer list again tomorrow is throwing me off as well, because I'm sure that would make people unhappy, and probably just make it seem like we were plotting something in here. But then again maybe 4 different people would do the exact same thing (be secretive) and our group knowledge would start to be fragmented (which is why I assumed we would be making it transparent in the first place).

This is a good point. I would probably rule out trying to manipulate us into a mistake because even if it works then we'll come right back at Darryl.

Anyways, since I'm probably gonna not be here till day starts because i'm asleep. Last things to say.
1. I'm claiming because the value of an investigator with an extended group that can post all findings is incredibly valuable. I last 5 days, relay 5 align reads before people (including you guys) get suspicious and axe me. My role is revealed. You guys translate the reads I made back to town. We now have known town.
The value of that far outweighs any value that I have as an individual. I will unlikely sway voters during the early game as it is, so this is better than a spontaneous midgame role reveal.
2. After each night, I'll comment on whoever I picked as my target and either bold something randomly or use an emoticon. Probably the first or second post of the day.
If you want to suggest a target, bold something I suppose. But I will probably pick them myself because I wanna have fun too!!
