An awesome thread for an awesome game! Since a couple of people here are playing/have played it recently, here's a good spot to discuss it. PLEASE USE SPOILER TAGS.
I don't usually care about spoilers personally, but this is one game that NEEDS to be experienced fresh as much as possible. Also, because a bunch of people didn't know how to pass the first boss without killing it, You just have to keep sparing her over and over, regardless of whether or not the command is yellow. This is hinted at early in the ruins. Also, it is nearly impossible to die in this fight, so save your healing items. Once you get down to 2 hp, Toriel's attacks will start to purposely avoid you. One more thing: Buy the Spider Donut before you leave the ruins. It's super helpful later.

If you end up killing a bunch of people you like, making 2 million choices you regret, etc, then imo you've almost made the game better. Just sort of annoys me when someone says I killed Toriel and people go "HOW COULD YOU". Just sort of defeats the purpose of the game. If you're playing the game to get a specific ending even if its the True Pacifist ending , looking at that particular ending as a checklist or achievement, then you've essentially ruined the purpose of parts of the game. The Genocide ending talks about that sort of mindset, but if you're approaching the other endings in this way too, you're not doing much better
