When/if Palmer dies I will give him the choice. Can't see myself forcing it though, that feels way more unfair than whatever influence this lie might be having.

If would have been nice if I got a choice... The more I see of this game the angrier I get.
When does the vote to ban Splinter from making games begin?

I think this game would be really interesting (and not frustrating) to play in if the islanders knew what was going on. The core design itself is actually quite clever...

The idea of two voting channels is clever. It's just too devoid of info. Even more so than Harry Potter, which deserves a congratulations, because I didn't think that was possible.

I have thought about running this game as an 'open' set up, it only needs a few tweaks for that. I think it would be interesting to see how differently people play. I might still do it in a few seasons (unless I'm banned from hosting ) As for the lack of info: town is definitely running blind at the moment, but they won't stay that way for much longer. I'm glad we're almost done with the early game

Good time for a replacement. I hadn't considered it but Launch/Magnum's role includes another small hint to town. Lets see if he shares it

Pre-empting the medium claim? Thats err... a bold plan Blarg.

Especially since the afterlife would just "NK" ridli. Right?

Yeah
Actually I'm pretty worried about the current afterlife plan. Wondering if a mass-claim is game breaking at this stage...

I still haven't entirely processed that apparently not everyone on the island is ordinary or vanilla scum. With the whole Bestow stuff I implicitly thought that would be the case. That would make a mass claim on the island entirely useless.
The afterlife people having access to the island makes total sense lore wise but might be a bit of a problem from a gameplay perspective. If someone did something scummy and gets lynched for it there is no reason why he shouldn't be immediately be lynched in the Afterlife... If someone gets lynched because "well, we have to lynch someone", then it's a different case. We'll see, i guess.

Yeah but a mass claim of BESTOW targets, and if the Island agreed to cooperate the next day... difficult for scum to navigate, unless I'm forgetting something

Oh, I see, because Scum can't normally Bestow, they'd have to use a Scum partner as scapegoat. That connection is only one sided tough. If the bestowing player flips, Afterlife knows the bestowed player is scum, but not vice versa.
You get a real problem if they want to work out as a group who is going to bestow whom, tough...

Yeah...
Not impossible, but I can't see them all getting through that completely clean. Blarg/LP really need to be in there fighting this before it gets going.
I thought that if this game was unbalanced, it would be in scum's favour. Now I'm more worried I didn't give them enough defenses.

"surprisingly balanced" BTW, I sent you a piece of flavortext on GAF, I hope it's not too pretentious and/or dark

Hoo boy, here they go. Palmer's been itching to role claim since the day started, I think this will hurt them very badly.
Flush: I'll look later, but if Ouro's made it in I'm sure your's will be fine!

Hmm, if Blarg reads Afterlife chat and keeps ridli updated, this would go a lot better.
Full identity theft will not work well for them though

The scum don't realise that the roy claim could be partly lies.

The scum don't realise that the roy claim could be partly lies. Yeah I keep forgetting that and thinking he has a chance here. But nope, Roy played it brilliantly

Scum falling into the classic trap of believing town - it gets me every time. lol @ Palmer telling me about game balance in the scum chat, and not even considering the alternative

On the plus side, perhaps the afterlife have forgotten their mass claim in the excitement

Scum must be panicking. Dusk's post is so clearly a newbie town dropping in rather than following closely - if they attack him for that they'll attract even more suspicion
(In case you ever read this Dusk that's not a criticism)

Oh I hate it when people talk shit about past games... The medium in MGS died the night the first scum was lynched. There was never a chance to omit anything scum would've said in the dead thread (even though that would've been easy, but the point is, it never happened at all)

It all depends on Roy. Did he set a trap? If yes, awesome! If not, does he buy the pre Day 1 offer and reveal of all the info to Palmer? We'll see :)

lol, Roy doesn't even have to claim. And he will probably be MORE trusted when he does claim, thanks to this.
And the afterlife will realise scum knows about them.
What a backfire

Post by Gorlak on Jan 13, 2016 5:04:45 GMT -8
Of course he doesn't have to, I'm still not sure wether roy wants to catch more scum offguard or if he told the truth about his role. You seem to indicate Palmer's pm will be shown upon lynching, that would be very bad for scum. Otherwise he should be safe for the afterlife. It feels like the bad guys lack the proper motivation to own this game. Getting assigned to mafia after one day of unimportant ordinary gambits was probably discouraging.

Yeah they seem to be more bothered by that than I expected, although maybe it's just because things are going badly at the moment. It's not like acting to "ordinary" on D1 is a bad plan... It's what scum are supposed to do anyway! And I did put myself through this btw to test it. In both WW (town) and Heist (scum). (Not exactly the same I know, but still...) Eh More worried about inactives in the afterlife now. This game lurches from crisis to crisis

Interesting
The Island is playing blind, and don't believe a word ridli says
The Afterlife have all the extra info, including the person whose role is being claimed, and for some reason appear to be believing this.
