Those really were completely random, so probably completely wrong.
I'm just waiting for everyone else to guess. Ty, Mazre, Swamped, Burb, Xam, Kalor, anyone I forgot what are your scum guesses?
It's not your fault everyone is afraid of spiders.

Just from a cursory follow of the thread, I would be pushing Ouro a lot, a lot of his posting feels fake to me. Otherwise, I got nothing.

I think Kawl may be scum. I still like Corn as scum as well, I think he may be trying to play the fool in the 'why would a scum do that' sort of way. Crimson and squidy are both possibilities as well.

interesting! ok so far .... redhood and flux and karu and splinter aren't sending scummy vibes, then? I wonder.... is it that their play styles are reading "townies" or are they just more harmless, in general?

interesting! ok so far .... redhood and flux and karu and splinter aren't sending scummy vibes, then? I wonder.... is it that their play styles are reading "townies" or are they just more harmless, in general? Does it look like I town read Splinter? -_- Ferret: One thing I've noticed with Droplet and Flush is how both mentioned me panicking. It's such a stand out word no one else mentioned (last time I ctrl+f'ed it) which makes me think it might have been mentioned a lot on the scum thread. Weird read, but Flush has been kinda passive and his last post towards me seemed to be for brownie points. Droplet too to a certain degree. One thing that stuck with squid is how he mentioned Mazre being an easy D2 target had I been lynched. The sudden shift D1 is what really killed me and Mazre didn't have any solid scum reads against him. His early vote on me especially was way too risky for a scum. I didn't have time for it, but I wanted to tie it after Droplet's post to force her to vote. Time was a little short though and it would probably make me steal even more attention D3. I kinda town read Kawl now because he went over the end of D1. He didn't write as much about it as I thought, but he didn't discard the day like Droplet, Flush and probably someone else I'm missing. Crimson's D1 posting does seem like something coming out of a scum filling their posting quota, but not really filling the posts with any info. Some of them seem to me like a stream of consciousness (#271). His last minute vote on me seems really weird though. Sawneeks really slipped under people's radar D2 and her vote was weird. She also made a very safe "both are town" statement as if she knew it to be true should the tide turn in the last minute.

ok so splinter is sending scummy vibes to ty
just karu, redhood and ... flux? aren't striking scummy to most people?
im just trying to figure out what makes someone playstyle townieish and what makes others' playstyles are scummyish (even if they are actually townie)

Hard to say with Karu, but Redhood has a tone in his posts that I can't see a scum easily faking.
Flux is hard to read, but he seems too active to be scum right now.

is it because he keeps repeating that he is townie? :D

Of course. When you say it ten times it must be true.
Redhood to me posts like someone without any weight on their shoulders. I guess that's why I town read him.

Maybe all play styles are scum play styles! I'm still drifting back and forth about flux, I will laugh if Karu actually is scum and is the last again, Redhood is fine in my books. Now watch everyone we named die.

ty, i see. that's an insightful thought about how to send out townies vibes :>
ferret! hahaha cutecute <3
i was just thinking about this because there were some people that told me they were feeling demoralized cuz they got read as scummy even when they weren't scum. but i guess the old adage that townies thought they are the towniest town that ever towned still holds true XD most townies can't quite believe it when they are read as scummy ... like HOW, WHY, NOOOOOOOOOOOOOooooooooooooooo etc.
^___^;;;;

Being read as scummy isn't bad. It keeps you alive for a good long while, scum don't want to even try and touch a scummy player (most of the time).
Like say you're a pr who barely escapes multiple lynches, you've basically got it made

Post by yn on Dec 25, 2015 17:05:31 GMT -8
agree
i think it was frustrating for them in this game cuz no one's a PR
so it's basically a testament on how they 'sound like' to the others, and i can see why it'd be frustrating when you know you're a townie but others think you're scummy af

Kinda weird you were killed considering how many here scumread you. I'd spend the day asking about what people thought of your contributions and be suspicious if they have a shallow response.

looks like part of the skill of playing mafia is the persuasion skill to actually somehow get others to take your side, cuz even if you're right, if no one's listening to you, then its moot .____.;;;;
