He didn't. He killed Ultra. I'm writing the end game post now.
Night Vale won... but at what cost?

gg everyone and thanks Retro for bringing the game together. I had been pretty hyped for it and even though my tenure at Night Vale wasn't long (damn you, scum) it still delivered, and following it afterwards was a ton of fun. Great job on the flavor and the mechanics.
And good job town!

Palmer and I are currently collaborating on a Firefly game to run sometime down the road.

Same. Not my problem that he either spells it or pronounces it wrong. I'm reading through, it's funny you say this Palmer. I do spell the name wrong. It was actually Sorain originally.
This dates back to Everquest days, I was playing the game on my brother's service account and named my first character Sorain. For xmas that year, my parents bought me my own computer and the game and I had to make a character on my own account. Obviously, the name Sorain was taken and I couldn't get into my brother's account to delete it so I changed it to Sorian instead. And here we are today.

Turns out Sorian's nerf is Sorian himself. I've found that the more sure Sorian is of something, the less likely he is to actually be right. For example, in the gossip thread during the night phase, Ultra explained that his role has another neutral role that is hunting for him. Sorian explained that it clearly must be UnmaskedFerret, and that the deductions to get to that point were incredibly easy. As I've said previously, he's completely wrong. Ferret is Ordinary Town. Royal_Flush is the one who's hunting UltraJay. As for why Scrafty is so upset, she managed to get a legitimate scum lead, and in the one moment where she gets to own the spotlight, Sorian says "lol nope" and proceeds to tilt at his own windmill. And of course the town is going with it, because people never seem to disagree with Sorian. And because she is actually fighting to follow her lead today instead of letting a Serial Killer solve her problem, now people are insinuating that she might be scum. I think she might really kill him this time. Everyone realizes I didn't care that much about being wrong right? Ferret was a casualty of war, if I was right, it would have been a "oh, cool" moment, if I was wrong then whatever. His defense painted him his ordinary pretty quick into day 4, I was still stalling for Jay though.

I've been a little unfair to Sorian. A Little. He is legitimately trying to do right by Ultra and create a condition where as many people win as possible. (Now, he's not considering that by making Ultra win, he automatically makes Ultra's Lyncher, Royal, lose, so it's kind of a wash either way.) Again, as a person, I love Sorian to death. But the way he dominates a game is incredibly frustrating both as a player and a mod. And of course I considered this. It's not Flush's fault but Jay did something to personally help me, it seemed like it was a one or the other on the neutral win, I knew I was throwing in against the lyncher (that's why I was trying to lynch them).

I just saw this, and no, Votes were exempt from any and all curse requirements. They did not have to be included in Haikus, Rhymes, or anything, though I told at least Scrafty that she could do it for extra style points, if she wanted. Also: Credit to Palmer for the song lyric idea. That was all him. I was going to make Sorian post entirely in images. I think I can understand why somebody would really not want to do the song lyric thing. Haikus and rhymes are annoying but it's not that hard to try to fit a thought to them. Song lyrics are something you have to go actively search for and I could see it be really frustrating to have to do google searches every time you want to express a thought. Doubly so if you're trying to actually make a case. Maybe something like "write your posts as if they were a cheesy love song" would have been easier. edit: oops This is why I chose to ignore it Drop, it sucked of me, I know, but I had a lot of convincing to do on this particular day (funny enough, everything I was doing was pro-scum in a way so funny that Karu hit me) and I'm not very nuanced in music, I would have been a fish out of water trying to figure out what to say and how.

It's ok. I feared the moment where I'd be on the chopping block without safe roleclaims and given GAFia's history with Neutrals (e.g. that cow licking scum!)

I almost invited you so many times Coppa but then you became my "lie" to Mazre. You were in my gossip chat in spirit. I guess I may have inadvertently protected you for a bit though since they couldn't kill someone in my gossip chat without looking suss. But yes, you were a level-headed townie, you played a great game as well.

But yes, you were a level-headed townie, you played a great game as well. Yeah, it's all good. I'm lucky I managed to get town trust early on though, since I'd have very little defense for myself. Revealing my role would have made it useless and I'm not sure what kind of crazy lie I'd have been able to come up with. Kinda nice having that to be honest, makes nights go from "Oh shit I wonder if I died..." to "Oh shit I hope I died!" I almost PM'd retro a few times saying I hope I died at night <_<

You know if I invited scum accidently, they would have pitched a fit.
Edit: It fit perfectly with you saying that you would put roles into your flavor as well.
