Alright back from work, anything happened that I should know before making a post?
Also, Arkos his role PM mentions something interesting: if he finds him, he will "restore him to former glory"? That makes me think the person that is voldy hasn't got a lot of power right now, and Arkos needs to target him first in order to activate his abilities. So while hyper can find voldy with his role, arkos would still need to target voldy after that to power him up.

don't think we have a recruits blue
so far:
1 role cop
1 role-specific cop
1 1 time switcher/godfather
1 scum override (only works with boldly getting lynched)
1 unreported player
what do you guys think of doing a "joke" override today. every will see it as a total joke, but in reality we're already cutting the list of people that might be voldy down
I feel like a lot of our powers so far are based around the idea of finding voldy, so we should definitely be trying our damn hardest to find him

As the person that would have to enter the command in the thread, I am vetoing this idea. You say that everyone will see it as a joke, but this is day 1, people will get lynched for the smallest things. Not only that, but it is against the rules to use a non-existing highlight tag, so the fact that my "joke" tag will not cause a bloodthirsty salva or nin to run into the thread, screaming: "FUCK YOU ROY, AAAAAAAAH" could tip some perceptive townies off to the fact my highlight command is actually real, but just failed. And then I would have to role claim. Now, I do actually have an adapted version of my role power at the ready for if I need to role claim, but I am still missing a usable role name. Apparently the Malfroy's aren't fully evil, but I don't know if that also is the case for Lucius, so it is probably not smart to use that name, right? If not, I will need someone that either: - Has a knowledge about the dark arts that would help him to siphon power from Lord voldy. OR: - Has experience with fighting against lord voldy, and that experience is the explanation why he can siphon power. Does anyone with a bit more knowledge about Harry Potter have some names that I could potentially use? |

Quick question...does this forum's profile track posts in here? Because it would look suspicious if my profile's posts went up but my posts weren't seen anywhere. I'm assuming that's been taken into consideration...but just checking anyways.
edit: my post count still says 0, so yeah that looks to be the case.

Hey fellow Death Eaters. First game here... My role is Nagini, the Snake. Each night, I can poison someone, and they die in two nights. That is a pretty powerful role! Is it unlimited or do you have a limited amount of doses? Also, welcome! I know being scum in your first game can be very intimidating, so don't be afraid to ask for advice! But do remember that the most important thing in this phase of the game is to be as honest and true to yourself as possible. If you give your opinion about something, try to give your real opinion if even remotely possible. Keep your cool and try to play like you would if you were town. Every night you make it to alive means one extra kill for us! |

Honestly, I'm really glad I rolled scum. It's more my style.
In "traitor" type games with friends (mafia, resistance, Avalon, etc...), I'm often suspected, even when a townie, because I always play devil's advocate. For some reason, they find that suspicious. That being said, this crowd seems a lot more analytical, so I assume I'm a bit safer playing that type of role here.
I'll try to keep up the townie façade, and I won't use any of my death eater knowledge to help me make voting decisions. I won't actively accuse any death eaters, but I don't think I'll defend any suspected death eaters either, unless logic can be employed.

Oh, and so far, Burb seems like the best target for me to bite tonight. Let me know what you guys think. Unless someone counter-claims, I suspect he'll be trusted more than not.
edit: on second thought, if he has no special role outside of appearing as a death eater, he's not really a threat, is he? I could take a stab at someone else, but I assume we might need to be careful not to kill Voldy? Of course, there's also a chance that Snape does have a special power...any guesses as to what that might be? |

Looked it up quickly, he changed his about 2 hours before I got my role PM, so I would assume it was before he got his too. However, we do have to keep an eye open for potential signs of voldy reaching out to us. I would guess he knows that we are searching for him, so he may drop a few hints here and there if he is bold.

What do you guys think so far in general? I think it is going...alright I guess? None of us is really in the firing line, with the maybe exception of Crab. However, there aren't a lot of lynch candidates yet, maybe burb but I doubt that will happen. Gorlak can be a danger if he is a investigation PR, maybe a good role block target? Also, I have no idea what swamped is doing with that Sawneeks vote and then disappearing from the thread. |

Alright, have been thinking about use cases of my role and this is the best one I can come up with:
If we manage to find voldy AND remove all the abilities of town that can night kill, I can basically lock this game for us. I will just start every day with a post with both a vote for voldy and the override command for a towny. If I am the first to post, that means my vote would put voldy in the lead and the override will activate. Basically, I will be able to completely remove the day phase from this game and make that an extra kill for us every time. It requires a very specific set of circumstances in order to work and is quite risky, so this should probably not be our main plan, but if things go in such a way that this plan is becoming a real possibility, it is worth it to keep it in mind.
