My activity/performance might be crap because I'm in the middle of moving, but I'll try to work around it. I've just gotten out of my old place and I'm spending two weeks sort of figuring out what to take with me before I drive south.

We should not push a townie lynch ever. Town will do that for us.

I was at work when the game began so I'm tardy to the party. I agree at not pushing townie lynches. I'm not sure how much utility we'll get out of our role power.

I can see it being extra useful if some active townies are lynched. We'd get some extra thoughts from them. In my experience a lot of early townie lynches can have good reads and overall it always helps to get more townie input. We'd also know 100% they're town and that we could trust their input (there *might* be a scum role countering this, first revealed when they finally die, but doesn't seem super likely).

Maybe a couple of votes will come later, but the kitsune wagon seems pretty dead rn.
I'll need to make a closer look at kitsune's replies, but so far it looks like town v town to me. I feel like most of the people reading this as town v town and town reading kitsune are townie, this is a decent wagon for scum to push.
lol at calling two votes a wagon, but hey, You make do with what you've got

Apologies for my absence. I don't want you to look scummier for having a quieter poster as a partner. Day 1 is always a wash for me since I never feel confident in reading people, and it usually feels like the Day 1 vote always results in some random townie being eliminated. So far my gut is leaning towards Fireblend being town. He was coaching Orb an being more proactive in post #610. I could see scum using this to look more townie, but strategically isn't better to just let newer players be indecisive if you're scum? The argument about lovers chat feels like genuine concern for people not sharing enough of their opinions. It's also the kind of stance that would draw unwanted attention for Mafia. More reads incoming!

I know every scum team is going to be a different monster from game to game, but I can't see how their argument makes either one look better. It very much feels like a small scuffle that became the unintentional focus of conversation. WAMD implies that part of her intent was to get a reaction from kits in post #431. Or maybe I'm misreading this. But the most we get out of the exchange is a centerpiece for everyone to comment on.

Nin, Star, and Exodus are null reads from low posting. I'm not one to post very often in any game though so I can't be a hypocrite. lol

In my experience just throwing out a bunch of stuff into the thread helps. I get some thoughts out there and it starts the process making me make more reads etc.

The argument about lovers chat feels like genuine concern for people not sharing enough of their opinions. It's also the kind of stance that would draw unwanted attention for Mafia. More reads incoming! Depends. I'm not really leaning scum on fire ATM, but it is a typical scum playstyle to go for easy townie points like coaching newbies. "Apologies for my absence. " Too lazy to make a quote on mobile. The D1 lynch can be successful in several ways. First of all we'll be getting a bunch of alignments later on so we can get an idea of how people moved their votes if we get a bunch of wagons going. Let's say one pair gets a wagon, it fades, then later that pair flips scum. Super useful. When it comes to the lynch itself it's by no means impossible to catch scum and even if it is town we can eliminate weak/hard to read town that could screw us up later. I'll be shifting my goal a bit to try to find a town circle. If we can get the opinions of a bunch of townies it boosts our chances of finding scum.

One thing that has bit me in the past is that scum *wanna* look townie so they'll often inflate some reads etc.
It's easy to give them a free pass for that and scum read townies who're lacking motivation for whatever reason.
On MU they have something called WIM, wants it more, which is usually a town tell, but some are really good at having WIM as scum. It's basically activity and pushing the thread forward. I'd classify Fire as showing some good WIM when he returned to the thread.

Absolutely!
I want to put more pressure on middle of the road players like Verelios or flatearthpandas, so I might just put a vote on them. I'm looking through their posts in the thread, but not seeing much substance. I'd like their takes on more topics if nothing else.

Dragonz kinda messy push also felt townie. Thinking she'd take it easier and maybe step back a bit more as scum. FEP I agree with tho. I struggle to find something townie from both FEP and kitsune.

Kitsune's style has almost been a little too defensive for town. I feel like scum teammates would be pushing for kits to do more or chase inactives.

Too defensive for scum, is what I meant there. I'd have no problem voting out kits, but there's been nothing damning yet.

This line by Fireblend:
Is weird. It kinda looks like a PR slip. Knowing how the other love boat worked the chats don't change any mechanics. They're just chats. The only exception is one neutral role could disable chats in that one.

I honestly felt like I had to step it up when Ouro surpassed me in posts ._.
But yeah, struggling a bit with reads. I like getting a few townies to stand on, but it's kinda hard to do. One thing strong in my memory is finally getting a strong enough town read on the strongest townie and sheeping his vote which gave us a scum lynch D2 on a total inactive (he showed up, posted the required ten posts and then nothing). Everytime I get close to townreading Sorian something sticks up. Natiko is just kinda hard to really townread, just doesn't feel like he has the right intentions. Crimson/Sophia are playing well and kinda like I expect them to as town, but also scum in many ways. Nothing sticks way out like "aha, don't see them doing this as scum". It's all very sensible and stuff I can imagine a decent scum player keeping up.

Went back and read a game; a completely unrelated game. That game was kinda weird. At first town didn't do too well, but then one townie got replaced and the replacement was able to pretty much single-handedly find every scum player and win the game for town. Three scum, the last three lynches were scum and the last two were turbos. Anyhow, one read there stuck really out to me: Because it was totally correct - all 49 posts were made by townies - and a way of reading the thread I had never seen before. Looking back - it is here if you wanna read it - what sticks out to me is the way everybody is kinda doing their little part moving the conversation and their own reads. I haven't read anything close to that here and I'm nowhere near as good of a player as the one. My reads are, reeally bad It just feels like we've gotten close to that in parts lately. Can't pinpoint which because I'm too lazy to do work, but Natiko going hard against the flow when I started to criticize the Ouro vote really rubbed me the wrong way there with him breaking that conversation flow.

If it messes you up trying to read I use comma for a dramatic pause "the best car, in the world, of all time" a lot :/ If it helps you it's kinda helpful for me to put on hype music when reading the thread. Imagine the smug face you can have post game when all your D1 reads are correct

You've played on the same scum team as Darryl haven't you? Disney Princess iirc so obviously not a normal game lol
How would you describe him as scum? My hypothesis is that he'd be trying to make up cases where he could aggressively attack someone. His attacks so far seems to have come naturally and not forced. Town Darryl can also be really aggressive and tunneling.
I haven't played with scum Darryl iirc. Haven't really interacted that much with town Darryl either in the games where we played.

Sorry, I've been busier than I anticipated with work and family chores.
Darryl has always been very aggressive for sure. When we played on a scum team together he was very willing to make bold moves. We kinda lost the game after he got snagged in an obvious lie. I find his more laid-back approach odd this go around odd, but he hasn't been saying that I can pin him on. Nothing too weird.
