alright, time to get my soliloquy on for this Swamped rescue plot:
Firstly, I need to engage Swamped in my own dialogue. We haven't interacted much in the game-thread. This is an opportunity. I'll step forward and cold-ask Swamped, "Swamped, why do you feel you are being scum-read?"
This will place Swamped in my BLARG?! spotlight. This is a heightened level of scrutiny for the both of us. This is an opportunity to refresh this whole class-action case against her; clean the table with the intro of a new interrogator, thus a precarious chance to establish a new pro-Swamped narrative from the embers of the facts they've been using against you. So from there, Swamped replies, basically introduces herself again, lays out her own POV, yes; BUT, she shouldn't immediately move her vote or accuse anyone in this tentative first act. Right then,
she needs to purely defend herself with her own current merits in this game, not try to shift blame... for now.
But who to slowly scapegoat in her stead..? This alert level on Swamped must be peeled off like a rind, not diced skin-on for conveniently instant gratification.
With WAMD gone, so has our best chance for deflection Today. Fucking assassins
We simply cannot hope to shift this burden onto a low-activity poster. The general gulf in capability between her and them is too vast in mind to justify such a translation.
So if acohrs dies Today, ...I need to think about those consequences
There is a bold out to be taken here... Swamped may simply openly claim to be the one who targeted Lifeline (simply the truth) and as the one who triggered his Innocent Child ability (simply the truth, she Roleblocked him last Night)... Of course, we can't say that Night-action of hers was indeed a Roleblock. Yet, in an arena of Role Madness a Town-aligned Roleblocker would be a fiendishly reasonable mod inclusion so as to purposefully promote their own creator-fueled schadenfreude for fun for the players/toys in their sandbox. But in this case, I think we'd only hear cries of ROLEBLOCKER IS TRADITIONAL SCUM ROLE KILL HER and only accelerate her demise... A Town-aligned Roleblocker who openly attaches herself to the most prominent convo piece of D2 that mod-confirmed Lifeline is? Yes, claiming that position and that responsibility is mindshare suicide. Some things are better left unexplained; if we try to place her as the explanation, it would only anger the crowd further. But could there be a chance of this saving her? No, simply not. To claim Town-aligned Roleblocker who triggered Lifeline during N1, is simply ass
But what if not "Roleblocker", such a conventionally scummy Role? What if she claims any kind of Power Role that triggered Lifeline? Why do I keep trying to involve Swamped in this event? Besides it being the truth, there must be some way this celebrity reveal can be used to save her. The truth can be lied! The alternative is to claim she is a Power Role yet refuse to state the details of her nature nor name her N1 target; no, that's asking to be flipped. The alternative is to claim she is a...
What if she were to claim as yet another Ordinary?
Double-down on the primary point of furious contention.
"Scum wouldn't do that."
"Would scum!Swamped risk moving into a burning house like that?"
Is this real?
Could she be saved by simply frustrating them with their pre-existing ire, to past the point of their desire to kill her? There is a complication, if she does this, again as I've said, she must purely defend herself with her own merits BECAUSE THAT'S ALL A POWERLESS ORDINARY CAN DO... and so as I've said, if she claims as Yet Another Ordinary in the midst of this Role Madness, there must be a scapegoat. I mean obviously, Blarg, there must be a scapegoat regardless of any permutation of this rescue plan but no, this particular claim route NEEDS a scapegoat.
Only acohrs is closest... and that ground is far too shaky to build a scapegoat fortress on as-is... but he's the closest, least time needed to transport those scapegoat-building materials via bandwagons... but that soil is just too loose, he's just a low-activity dude, not like Swamped who's being attacked for reasons..? Will he do, will he do, who else...
Ordinary claim, defend yourself based on your own merits, make it about what you have said with a hint of what you could've.
Past the initial incredulity and rage of the audience upon hearing such a Role-claim again in the context of the current game; Swamped, you will be supported by the suggestion that the immediate pile-on of angry votes onto you due to your "Yet Another Fucking Ordinary Role-claim Again", is a bandwagon
Thereby, we will advance from there to then paint and dismiss the entire body of votes against you D2, as a scum-propped bandwagon. Attention will drift eventually once the anger settles.
You will come closs to being lynched but doubt will creep in after your vote count is accelerated. Because the tide must first flow in to flow out.
But you mustn't waver from your Ordinary-claim, no matter what. This will be the double-edged blade you cut your way out of this... as long as you don't drop it.
Yes. I think this will work
Swamped, wait until after you've answered my question in-game thread. Then, you deploy this Role-claim, at your discretion.
It won't be your Power that makes you valuable, no it must be the insight you may offer. It must be enticing but not curious. Melancholy at the prospect of your imminent wasted potential. Anger at people for not listening to what you said before, and what you're saying now. You need to dance on their frustration, with your own. But don't make it unpleasant like Palmer's
Just Ordinary charm
