Because pure shit talk is mean, I'll put this down for future reference: Love Boat splinter was fucking scary and I was glad he died as soon as he did. He had some partner too now that I think of it but I can't really recall them. So that in mind, I was really glad that splinter was toned down a bit in Gods and I hope he does not show his brilliance at this game for our sake.

Okay, do you guys think I should play as normal town, and play up the newbie aspect? My thinking is I should snuggle up to Catvoca. Does that make sense or is it too obvious?

Out of the two games I've played, newbies in both were given some leeway. And in both, there was a newbie scum. The newbie play will get you through a day or two, but after that everyone is a target. In general, I'd say it is better to contribute right from the start, even little, so the transition from a moderately clueless noob to a respectable member of the town community seems more natural.
