The three of you have been invited into a quiet conversation, starting with the beginning of this day phase, and ending at the end of the next night phase. Only the player who initiated the chat will have access to to the records of this chat past that point.
Your posts in here cannot be searched, cannot be read by anyone but the three of you, (and the game mods, obviously,) and will not increase your post count.
If seating is somehow changed, this chat will immediately close.
Proceed.

So, I thought being invited to a gossip chat would be more interesting than this :p

We're a secret club, we gotta keep it that way. Can't afford to get heat on us.

So I take it you invited me here... Along with Scrafty?

My, I thought I'd be late to the party, but I suppose it's difficult to be late to a party that hasn't even started yet.

Well yeah. I don't think there's much to discuss on a gossip chat on day 1, specially since nothing much has happened on the main thread other than the Launch thing, but I do wonder why it took Bronx so long to talk here, I even had to post to get him to come out of the shadows. It'd be a waste not to make use of this for... something.

I was waiting for you guys to post first! Eh, that doesn't matter now. What does matter is what's happening with Launch right now. What do you guys think? Town or scum?

He's probably town, I'd say.
I'm very wary of nin right now as well. I don't like the way he fell over himself to play the victim as soon as I so much as suggested his behaviour was out of the ordinary.

Yeah, Nin's reaction doesn't make him look super good, but it's hardly proof of anything... still, it's not like we have a lot to go on. I'd like to hear some thoughts on the usefulness of a gossip chat like this on D1 btw, specially from Bronx. I assume this was an involuntary thing, Bronx? As in you didn't actually choose to invite us, you just happen to always host a gossip chat with the players adjacent to you?

Retro is the one that set up this gossip chat. He said that the players on my left and right could chat with me, and that happened to be the two of you.

Idea: should all three of us post our PM's showing that we're all town, or would that be too risky for us? Launch showed that he's tow, so if all of us reveal it as well that then protects all of us from getting lynched. I assume it'd be risky since we'd all be at the Mafia's mercy though.

Unless your role PM explicitly allows you to do otherwise, do not quote or posts screen-shots of any PMs or posts that were not made in this thread. Obviously this is a grey area, but please try and play sportingly." I should have mentioned this earlier, but all rules that apply in the main thread apply here as well. Please do not post your Role PM here.

Pretty sure pasting our PMs here is strictly against the rules, and revealing our roles sounds risky and hard to verify still. We do have the upper hand if we want to push for someone in particular as a block though, I guess.

Should've clarified, I meant revealing our roles in the main thread. Wait, what? Why. That way we can guarantee we won't get lynched. But that's why I said before that it's risky, because it would make us prime targets for Mafia at night. Just an idea I wanted to throw out there.

|
|
Post by Fireblend on Apr 24, 2016 8:03:55 GMT -8
It makes no sense to reveal our roles because of we're PRs then mafia doesn't have to guess who to target at night to hit a PR and if we're not then we make their guessing easier.

Scrafty, you said you trusted me on the main thread, why's that?

Post by Fireblend on Apr 24, 2016 12:35:29 GMT -8
Asking because I don't think you should reveal we're in a gossip chat or anything like that to justify it (not like anything has happened here to make any of us believe any of us is town, except maybe Bronx? There's been scum gossip chats before, no?). Or at least don't reveal it today I guess. I still feel like we're wasting an opportunity here, though not sure which one.
How do you guys feel about Gryvan? I really think that was a weird reaction from him.

Post by Cherry Bomb on Apr 24, 2016 12:39:44 GMT -8
Don't worry; I won't spill any secrets. Once the chat becomes public knowledge I'll add that to my reasoning.
I feel strange about gryvan too. I would not be at all opposed to bumping him off today or tomorrow.

We gotta be careful not to all vote for someone at the same time, or else someone could claim that we're scum trying to turbo somebody.

|
|
Post by Fireblend on Apr 24, 2016 12:48:42 GMT -8
Yeah I don't know how confident I am about Gryvan to push him as a block-vote. I'd rather make an effort to not make it seem like we've got any sort of communication outside the main thread because what I know is maybe people will know how to use this better in future days :P

I'm feeling really really bad about nin right now. All he's doing is making fluff posts and refusing to give any insights whatsoever. And people are letting him get away with it, too!
How does he have the nerve to tell me to "step my game up" when he hasn't even started playing yet...

Hey guys, last 30 mins. We get to keep the chat through the night (if I'm reading this right), but any thoughts right now? Thoughts on me vs. Gryvan? What about that "slip-up" by Roy?

Ok. Question for you guys.
Do you think Scum is evenly distributed among the tables, or do you think they were randomly assigned?
|
|
|
Post by Bronx-Man on Apr 25, 2016 8:11:35 GMT -8
I think it's probably a random assignment.
Goddamnit, Gryvan was town. I knew voting for him was a risky idea, but everyone else wanted to pile up for the new kid. Sad. Who do you think the Mafia will aim for tonight?
|
|
|
Post by Fireblend on Apr 25, 2016 8:20:34 GMT -8
If they are randomly assigned and thus unbalanced between tables, knowing one of them is about to be scrambled (because of Launch's power) they'll probably try to minimize potential losses and aim at someone on the table with the least scum in it. Or, they could risk it and do something else but that could end up being good for us and terrible for them. It's not super useful knowledge because we'll never really know, or maybe the kill can't be bypassed by scrambling seats, but it's food for thought.
And yeah it sucks that Gryvan was town. I was hoping he'd flip scum obviously but as I said I honestly don't think a vanilla town loss is that terrible, and letting him live after he claimed would have guaranteed he stayed in the game unchecked for a long time, helping scum reduce their pool of potential NKs (or if he was scum, he wouldn't be targeted at all obviously)...

[Sorry, had another exam yesterday and totally forgot to post here]
Thoughts for the day:
-gryvan was as good a choice as any for a lynch, as he wasn't empowered and seemed to only be playing for himself. Even if he stuck around I doubt he'd've contributed much more than he did on Day 1.
-nin's on my radar for tomorrow. He contributed absolutely nothing useful today and seems to be quite smug about that fact. If he performs the same song and dance on Day 2, I'm going to push very strongly for a lynch.
-I believe roy was just getting ready for work. It sucks to have level of activity used against you like that, and it wouldn't be fair to use that as the sole piece of evidence in a lynch. If he acts shady tomorrow on top of that then sure, but I'm not going forward with the assumption that he's scum.
-I'll be keeping a close eye on Karu's replacement and Terra as well, because I have no read on either. Not going to hold their activity against them just yet, but I need something to work with.
