I don't know why I reverted to rooting for town again. I'll now be cheering for the Mafia God, who is in a ridiculous amount of control here.
Watch him prevent this BSP lynch for fun

They have to kill Launch tonight.

I should be cheering for scum right now, too many town victories I think it's two things: 1. People enjoy seeing good players, and good scum will fool people into thinking they are town 2. It's fun to watch a players thought process evolve, For town, that almost exclusively happens in the game thread. For scum, we miss a bunch of that thought process It's easiest to cheer scum on when they are reduced to 1 or 2 players and spec thread has figured out/learnt who they are.

That could be spoiled anytime if you want people to root for.

Getting dangerously close to a hammer for BananaSpacePrincess. She's not a bad lynch candidate. She could easily be scum. The low activity scum are always the toughest to catch

Is anyone else getting real tired of nin flinging insults at people when he doesn't have anything better to say? I'm not sure if he's trying to play a character or what but it's coming across as really petty.

I nearly said something earlier after a launchpad post and the personal attacks.

He's going to ease off. He said he wanted to "try something different" this game, but he recognizes that it's not helping.

BSP has asked to be replaced. If she isn't lynched, I've reached out to Dusk Soldier to replace her.

Xamtheking:
Couple of reasons: 1. It was one of the first roles I came up with when I was working on Gafia 2, even before Swamped announced she was getting married. Scrafty just makes a ton of sense to me as a protector/blocker role. 2. Certain people are known by certain nicknames. Burb is the bear, (I included that,) Roy is the Owl, (I included that,) Ynnny is the Spider (I would have included that,) and Scrafty is the busty fitness freak. 3. When I was going back over roles prior to the start of the game, I did notice that it seemed out of place, but I decided that was okay. If you conform to patterns too often, people begin to rely on those patterns. Case in point: the confusion about who can target at what table. So I left it alone, because I liked it, and because it forced people to not rely on the meta.

That's good, but town seems very set on lynching their jailer. Stupid meta arguments ftw!

Also on the topic of abusing the meta, (And I think it's about to become topical) you know who everybody expected to be in this game? Blargonaut.
You know who's totally in this game? Blargonaut.
You know who's not a power role? Go on, guess.

I dunno I've not been focused too much on the role fluff in these two games.
I guess because I went too far with it in WWE.
Sometimes I do learn!

I thought that if would've been better to recycle the roles a little more, so I definitely didn't expect some of the signature roles from last game, like Tucah or blarg but him being ordinary is good too

actually, I didn't expect blarg. I thought that if would've been better to recycle the roles a little more, so I definitely didn't expect some of the signature roles from last game, like Tucah or blarg but him being ordinary is good too We went back and forth a bunch on whether or not to include Blarg, In fact, the Splinter Insanity Role was originally going to be Blarg, and the Salvapot fire alarm role was originally going to be either Hyperactivity or Blarg. Eventually we decided that we couldn't NOT include him, but that he shouldn't be a power role. Big thanks to Weemad for suggestions on today's lynch flavor. The suggestion that WeeMad would make a good Godfather is 100% coincidence, btw. I wrote that before I assigned roles. WeeMad was a character through almost the entire planning process. I think they were in the first draft. There was a good reason at the outset, which is unimportant now, but then I really liked having someone who was relatively new to the community in the game.

The coincidence is pretty funny though. Along with my previous interactions with Fireblend, it summed up my first season very ironically.

I don't remember if I've explained this before now, but the wedding planner is possibly the most important role in the game. He is on the scum team, and each night he can select the seats for any four players - the rest are chosen by RNG during the seat swap at dawn. This is important, because as I've previously noted, the other scum powers are based on position. He effectively enables, disables, and targets the scum powers.
Now, this has gotten them into trouble, because when Xam pulled the fire alarm the first time, RNG put the wedding planner next to the scum roleblocker, which broke their ability to effectively use their powers during that night AND the next. I would have thought that they would have clued in at that point and made sure that the wedding planner was always kept well away from the roleblocker to prevent that from happening again - but they haven't. They've moved the roleblocker into position each night, and let RNG decide where the wedding planner sits. This has gotten to the point where I actually asked if they knew that they COULD move the wedding planner. I was told yes, but that they were going with their plan.
So as of right now, at least, the wedding planner will be spending another cozy night next to the roleblocker. I'm going to give them until morning to see if maybe they come to their senses.

They ought to be putting two people next to the roleblocker. Every night. The others can distribute anywhere. But no, they want "space" or something. Guys, you're killing me. I'm dead and you're killing me!

Good way to get your role blocker caught if two people next but 1 to each other get blocked every day, and the same person is always between them. Of course, would require for the adjacent people to realise that they're blocked, which isn't always going to be the case, but you're still giving town information to work with. Time is the RB then?
|
|
|
Post by weemadarthur on May 15, 2016 16:22:06 GMT -8
Yes, of course they'll figure it out. Then you've night killed all the power roles, you bus the rb, and no worries about blocked kills or tracking anymore.
