Since the game is going to begin soon: How are we going to approach this? Should we play it straight, i.e. like any ordinary town would?

Miracle has arrived! Sorry I'm late. Sometimes miracles happen when it's fashionably late.

Oh and as far as how to play the game: just play it straight. We don't have any roles other than being a towns person so as long as we don't draw any unneeded negative attention to ourselves we should be fine.

Okay. Fair enough. I'll stay back for another hour or two, just to see what unfolds.

Any idea on how to approach this mess of a first day?
I still have work to do, but afterwards I'll continue to go through every post, summarize them and hopefully make sense of all this.

Miracle had to drop out . You'll get a replacement ASAP, but until then you'll continue playing as a single player.

Hello! I still have to catch up with the game thread. I'll start working on that now.

Hi. I'm optimistic I will be able to catch up (more or less) today. The sheer mass of posts has made that a bit difficult. Almost 500 posts within 24 hours on the first day is just insane.

I'm caught up now. A lot of the posts were fluff, so it goes a little quicker than one would first expect.
I'm kind of wondering if Flux fake claimed a role just for the heck of it and to stimulate discussion. Having a role and alignment detective and a tracker does seem excessive, though it could be possible if the scum have some good abilities too.

I cannot think of a good reason to make such a role-claim on D1, nor can I think of a good reason not to lynch him. It bothers me that Blarg/Kawl have attached themselves to him, though I strongly doubt both are mafia.
1)He is town, but not a cop. ---------------------------- His role claim risks that our actual cop slips up. In addition, he is drawing a lot of attention, both friendly and otherwise. I assume he might attempt to be some sort of lightning pole and detract mafia from town roles, but that seems like a pointless and risky gambit that could (and should) backfire hard. Either way, since he cannot provide any actual evidence, he will get lynched on D2. All in all, a waste of time.
2)He is town and a cop. ---------------------------- No. Just no. That would be the worst role-claim in Gafia history.
3)He is neutral. ---------------------------- No reason not to lynch him.
4)He is scum. ---------------------------- Even more important to lynch him, since he might be able to fake knowledge on D2 or even accurately give role names (if such a role exists among mafia).
I don't think he is mafia, since role-claiming cop on the first day is really horrendous, but when the best defense I can think of is "Too stupid to be a lie", that's...not good.

Finally finished with work. Maybe. The people that design corporate websites must be truly evil. It takes so much time to find important information there. Almost 3am. Time to get back to mafia.

ANNOUNCEMENT!
Suddenly, your private chat was filled with the loudest of noises, and you were not able to even hear, what the other was even saying. It was impossible to communicate privately no, as sad as that was...
You cannot use your lover chat during the next day and night phase, this chat will be locked until then. Please do not communicate privately at all about the game, if you do, it will be seen as rulebreaking.

Splinter has been very active, a useful town player, but why kill him over a presumably confirmed power role? A ploy to confuse us?

If Karkhead are town, then the scum must have presumed that the doctor, if one exists, would protect them.
Should we mention the Love Chat Block? I didn't want to bring it up yesterday because there was already a lot to digest.

Should we mention the Love Chat Block? I didn't want to bring it up yesterday because there was already a lot to digest. It would be more information for the town to work with, but it would also be more info for the scum to work with if it is a town role. I am leaning towards it being a scum role, but it could be a town role. If it is a town role and they hit scum, then there would be chaos in the scum team which would be really useful. I would say that was what happened to scum Night 1, but of course the Chat Blocker couldn't have used it by that point.

That's basically what I wanted to ask yesterday, but for the same reasons I decided against it. At this point, I'd like to wait and see if someone else brings it up.

Based on Karkhead's claim I thought it was best to go ahead and mention it. Almost certainly scum role.

No problem. I assume they'll lynch us today. This is the kind of nonsense that they'll use against us, combined with "You were against Splabot" and "You voted for different candidates". Can't believe we're letting TimeFlux roam around. They should've been lynched D1.

I'm wondering, since Kark is giving us an out, if we should indirectly pretend/mention that we have a power role. He asked if the chat bomb is reactive, so we could just say something like "D2 rules it out". That would draw tension away from power roles and (since Kark has practically confirmed our town identity) would not cause further confusion.

Way too many gambits in this game. I don't see why batsnacks would try such a gambit. On the other hand, I...don't quite see how his post would make sense if he intended to post it elsewhere either. It's a completely unnecessary gambit though.
