As for gambit, we could either say we didn't use our power, or we claim that we tracked someone who went to another player (not the deceased), and we think it might be the chat bomber.

let me think about it. Where are you going with the magnumboy convo?

So Topo asked you directly what we did, which means one of two things. Asking you gets answers quicker OR el Topo's team is a power role and they know about the stipulation on night activity.
Kind of a long shot, but that kind of thing is the kind of thing that could get a town PR killed.

Interesting catch there. What do you mean, it can get a power role killed?
I'm not really going anywhere with the MagnumBoy20xx thing (wow auto complete filled that in). I'm just confused by what that end of day thing was about.

I'm just confused by what that end of day thing was about. I think only a power role would know about the "first person in a pair" getting to pick the night time action. If we expose that it opens el Topo's team up to night death.

Right, so we can't mention that (and I don't really want to). I'm fairly convinced El Topo and Panda are Town, if we're to assume the chat bomb power is mafia-aligned.
However, someone probably got chat-bombed today. We wait for someone to claim they were chat bombed, and then we say "that's who we saw our target go to", meaning we might have found the identity of the chat bomber. At that point, we don't have to reveal the name. The idea of the gambit is to create pressure on Mafia thinking we caught them.

Another thing: There are 10 pairs left in the game. If we assume ElTopo is Town because of the chat bomb, BooJay is Town because of no activity, and Ty4on is Town because of no activity, we can narrow down the suspects from 10 to 6.
Suspects remaining: 1. [m] Kingkitty & [m] Hyperactivity 7. [m] Coppanuva & [m] Flame_AC
9. [m] TL21xx & [m] Camjo-Z NEW 10. [m] MagnumBoy20xx & [m] batsnacks 11. [m] Rest [m] Dusk Soldier & [m] Karu 12. [m] Kyanrute NEW & [m] Retroid
Presumably safe: 2. [m] Karkador & [m] Zippedpinhead 6. [m] UltraJay & [m] Boo Boo'n 13. [m] El Topo & [m] Miracle [m] Giant Panda 15. [f] Sophia [m] hobohodo & [m] Ty4on

The idea of claiming we didn't use our power also has merit, especially if you've breadcrumbed it. They are keeping us around for a reason, probably to make Town lynch us - but giving Town an reason to say "let them stick around longer" might piss them off. it might draw out some mafia fangs that way.

There's also, you know...the truth.

So do you think we have three more pairs or two? Three more pairs means next day is lynch or lose. 2 more pairs means we have some more time (but not much).
Ok I'm pretty sure they didn't chat bomb. The less people moving last night the better. We can always open up with...
Dusk... You shouldn't have moved last night...

And see what happens. If we get a ton of instant jumps, we see how it lines.
Or maybe a ultraboo, you shouldn't have moved last night... Didn't expect us to visit you again?

I'm really thinkin three more pairs, but I could be wrong.

You want to say, "dusk, you shouldn't have moved last night"? Then what do we say after that?
Consider how we could have bluffed against blarg. I think we could potentially end someone with this bluff claim, so we have to choose wisely.

I think if we catch mafia today, victory is pretty much inevitable. If we dont, then yeah, we are probably in lylo next time.
I wonder why they killed Launch and Gorlak. Did they accuse someone who hasn't been on our radar?

That's what I'm thinking.
About our claim. I think we point to my breadcrumb on "third times not a charm", and say we didn't use one of our X-shot last night.
We hold ty4on in our pocket for tomorrow or in case the vote goes that way

Sounds good. It seems like no one got bombed. I wonder why it's been alternating nights.

Sounds good. It seems like no one got bombed. I wonder why it's been alternating nights. It's only the third day, it's probably X-shot (likely 3) and they didn't want to blind fire it or use it on us. Limits their exposure if only one of their remaining does anything (that kill).

With the chat bomb having not been used, it means that ty4on/hobo could be scum... The bomber
I feel like a drive by vote on them...

Kyanrute...
I wonder if the "karkador/zip are scum because they didn't track" line of questioning is actually scum's attack on us. That they think the best way for us to die is a day kill because of misplaced trust with town.
So even though we can't track Kyanrute should stay on our radar.

Is it just me, or is Kyanrute more active today?
I'm wondering if we should push Ty4on around a bit. Stuff like ty4on saying "And this flip will be a gold mine.", in regards to voting for Splinter, seems questionable.

I'm pretty Sure that El Topo is a power role, and just faked that whole question to blow smoke in Mafia face.
possible Doctor there.

It was just so specific, and something easily fact checked. Like he was trying too hard to appear ordinary, without saying "hey I'm ordinary".

Back in the discussion about BooJay being the Chat bomber, they did say "We did not target Boo/Jay", rather than outright say "we're ordinary"

BTW, I'm still fairly convinced BooJay are scum. We may not have caught them with our tracking, but everything they've done has fit the narrative that keeps playing in my head.

I think its unlikely that Boojay are a reactive chat bomber ( bomb occurs when you visit), but I think that it is realistic that they are scum. with a tracker out there, we have a scum wanting to limit their exposure, switching people that kill/use abilities.
Also the people that keep saying that scum can't kill and do an ability the same night, as far as I know we (GAFIA) have never had a game where scum could not do both in one night (if they so chose). Everytime I have seen this argument, it has been either a brand new player OR Scum.

Ultraboo could still be scum, they just didn't do anything two nights ago

Post by karkador on Mar 7, 2016 9:42:08 GMT -8
Right, I think we just happened to not catch them that night.
Of course, you could make the argument for our yet-revealed result that Ty4on did nothing. This also means we should suspect him - but between BooJay and ty4on, the latter has at least been prodding and investigating Town by day. BooJay really hasn't.
As for the mafia's night actions, it's pretty clear to me (especially from watching other games behind the scenes) that one player does the faction kill, and everybody else may or may not do an action associated with their role (if any). If the chat bomber player does the night kill, they wont do the chat bomb - but other mafia players will still do their role abilities.
