sorry for making you go to the trouble of putting me in and me not doing anything
I wasn't quite sure where to begin, and the whole ridli thing was basically ordained from the beginning of the day so it became a bit... whatever
it was so daft of me to put all my cards on the table and I don't know why I did it other than just because I felt like I was doing nothing, lol

also reading back through Sorian's D1 *insert word of choice here* at the time thinking he was probably full of shit was maddening enough, I can't imagine what it was like actually being in the thick of it

No worries NF I think this game was especially tough for replacements. There's no real chance to catch up with a 24 hour night phase (that also had its own discussion/vote). I know Zatoth had trouble with that too.

aaaand now I regret giving the scum their upgrade That's why you shouldn't change rules of a relatively balanced game based on how it goes unless it turns out to be unbalanced in an unexpected way...

aaaand now I regret giving the scum their upgrade That's why you shouldn't change rules of a relatively balanced game based on how it goes unless it turns out to be unbalanced in an unexpected way... I think it was way unbalanced in town's favour. When it started I thought it was "slightly" unbalanced in scum's favour, but I was wrong about... a lot of things, so that's why I wanted to rebalance. I do think it's better now (those bestow powers are no longer useless, scum actually have abilities and a risk/reward to consider), but the inconsistent could be a problem. I "think" it should be ok now that I've informed Roy of the Datk Ritual, and changed flips at the same time. Also this speeds the game up, which is another thing it needed.

Actually he's telling the truth. I need the SK to keep numbers down.
I don't have access to my spreadsheet from here, I'll look up your role when I get home

I do think that the shifting goal posts of scums abilities may make pinning them down more difficult. Not sure I'm a big fan of that move.

I do think that the shifting goal posts of scums abilities may make pinning them down more difficult. Not sure I'm a big fan of that move. I think the game would have been better if it was like this from the start (or D2 at least) but yeah the shift is definitely a negative. I'm going to use nin's flip to correct that, assuming they lynch him today.

Looks like I missed a lot over the weekend.
So what's changed? Scum got a super-kill that bypasses Afterlife, and more powers?

Looks like I missed a lot over the weekend. So what's changed? Scum got a super-kill that bypasses Afterlife, and more powers? They get to use their afterlife powers even before they die. They also can see afterlife chat now. The slightly-shaky justification is that this is an "event" triggered by having no scum in the Afterlife. I didn't consider this until it happened though, so I'm interfering a bit more than I should be. Also the extra kill is something they definitely shouldn't have, I just need the game to go a bit faster (S5 looms) so I'm taking advantage of town's number advantage.

Bestows are easy to verify, scum don't have much defense to people claiming in there. Especially with this drip feed of suspects.
Plus a bit of luck, of course.

This is even more broken than I thought

Oh, c'mon ~ I thought the day phases were aligned to each other. It's unfair to reveal the nin flip to the island while they are still an hour away from their vote. Now they have more info which should have only helped them tomorrow.
(I know it was only revealed in AL, and Roy wasn't told to keep his mouth shut.)

HP didn't need a balance patch IMO. Scum were doing fine until Exodu5 died and Roy got counter-killed. But in terms of powers, town had a bit too much (but that was likely balanced by scum numbers).
As for this game, my death was a bit of luck, and I don't know how Blarg died. nin and ridli are basically what happens when scummy players enter Afterlife under a cloud of suspicion. No one in Afterlife goes "you were so unfairly lynched on the Island I'm going to spare you". With a scum-free Afterlife the town has a lot of power right now.

eh, its just for some last minute shenanigans. Afterlife has always been an hour ahead If it's consistent within the game, okay. But I really dislike last minute shenanigans... :o Well sometimes. Maybe I like it more often than not.
