Sorian is fucking scum. Splinter modkilled him because he broke the rules (because Sorian's ego loves that shit). They realized how unbalanced the game would be, so after deliberation they let him back in.
And we need to kill him.

Does anyone buy the idea that Sorian was in the fucking dead thread, gained knowledge, and was let back into the game? I've never claimed that I was in the dead thread by the way. Other people brought that up. I'm just not allowed to talk about what actually happened so I'm letting your imaginations run wild. I would prefer that you all scum hunt instead of worrying about what I was doing while I was dead so that I can participate more. |

Actually no... I'm going to state outright that I believe the modkill was a joke. And I'm going to continue to believe that until we get some sort of confirmation. Ie. No role PMs ever being posted. The simplest explanation is that the role PM wasn't posted because Splinter intended to revive Sorian. And the rule 34 was added not to help Sorian's role (which would be unfair, since players then have to wonder if it was due to rule 34 or due to a PR), but for the joke.

Sorian, fair enough. My initial game as never giving away my animal. It was just hints. You obviously know a fair bit more than I do. Was it too much information that my animal is an herbivore? Splinter had some fun with it in using my pre-message as an excuse but you can't look at the signs and tell me that this wasn't how things were planned to do. My role didn't show up for a reason, I never left the game, I only died. |

One thing I don't believe is that knowing our spirit animals only benefits scum. Information gathering power roles aside, that would give us no reason to ever hint at them, making them ultimately a fairly useless mechanic.

I guess the question is what is more likely:
A) Splinter puts funny inside joke Rule 34 in, Sorian challenges it, gets mod killed for an hour, because that's funny. He comes back, tries to milk it.
B) Sorian RNGs into some role that requires some a vacation from the thread, that rule is put in to... cover it I guess? and then he comes back and our most outspoken poster gets a special guy role to play
I'm leaning towards A.

I don't believe that Sorian's initial death was a joke, there's something to that at least. What I'm more sceptical about is what happens if he dies in future, that part could easily be a bluff.

Sorian, luv, you've essentially softclaimed a miscellaneous PR at this point and have thus painted a target on your back that I imagine both the riffraff and some rambuctious islanders are going to shoot for. Are you confident enough that whatever benefit your power has will be of use to us in the future, enough that it's worth risking your neck on the very first day?
I find this sequence of events to be very puzzling on the whole, and I'm not ready to drop it quite yet. In the meantime, I suppose I'll create a bit more pressure on my favourite slithering suspect.
