So you want to run a GAF Mafia Game...
This section of Outer Gafia is for people who are in the process of designing their own games to be able to workshop their game setups with other players/moderators/mentors.
Please note that current Gafia rules require a player to have completed one Main Season game before running their own game. (Mid-season games do not count.)
I want to start working on a game! How do I get a board?
PM Retro and let him know what the theme is, and ask him to create a board. If there are specific people you want to be able to access the board, please include that information.
I want to help someone else with their game, or have someone help me! How do I do that?
PM them and offer to help. If they agree and want you to be able to access their board, they can PM Retro and request to give you access.
If you are working on a game and want someone to have access to your board to work with you, PM Retro. Duh.
I can see all the boards! Should I be able to?
Yes. Currently all of the game design boards are visible, in order to raise hype. If you do not want your board to be visible to the rest of the board, (for example, a secret theme,) please let Retro know. Everyone can see the boards, but only people who have been invited can actually enter them. If you think that you are able to ENTER a board that you are not supposed to, please PM Retro.
What is the difference between a Main Season Game, a Mid-Season Game, a Mini Game, and a Gafia All-Star Game?
These are general definitions, and actual results may vary.
Main Season Game - One of a number of games that run at the beginning of each Gafia "Season." These usually have 20-30 players, usually have 96 hour day phases and 72 hour night phases, and last several weeks.
Mid-Season Game - One of a number of games that begin once enough players have been removed from the Main Season Games to play a smaller game. These usually have 10-20 players, usually have 72 hour day phases and 48 hour night phases, and last for a couple of weeks.
Mini Game - A Smaller game in the vein of One Night Ultimate Werewolf or the Target game. These games usually only have 10-15 players, and usually only have one 24-72 hour day phase before the game ends. Mini games typically take less than a week to run.
Gafia All-Star Game - Only one Gafia All-Star game has run so far, but more are planned on a semi-regular basis. (The actual frequency is yet to be determined.) These games use players from the Gafia Community as Roles, and as such, players may be required to have completed at least one Main Season game before playing.
There is no way we're going to play all of these games this season.
That is not actually a question. But I know. Not all of these games will run in the current season. That isn't the point. The point is for people to have a place to work on them.
That list is too long! We have too many boards.
You can click on the grey (or blue, on light theme) header boxes to "minimize" a group of boards.
I have another question, and I have missed that most of these answers boil down to "Send a PM to Retro." What should I do?
Send a PM to Palmer.
