I will say that there is a method to Kark's madness. PM if you want more spoilers.

Nah, I'm good. This current back-and-forth between Karkador and Sorian is getting exciting.

It really is exciting. I hope this is the day that Sorian gets lynched.

lol now I hope Sorian isn't scum, his ego might not be able to handle what Kark's last post.

At this stage of the game, I'm still having trouble figuring out who really is the scum. I still think that I was on the right track, but I can't really prove anything yet. Karkador is following up the leads that I would have chased though. I'm pretty surprised at how much he has changed his strategy for Day 2.

Okay, now I get why Karkador was thinking I was scum. Using completely separate logic, I managed to walk into a trap that Karkador had originally made to trap scum. What does Kark know about El Topo though?

It is a little weird to see everyone speculating about my death like this. It's practical (maybe), but a little macabre.

Its weird, but you get used to it. My death was basically the focal point of a whole day of discussion in my first game.

I love Jason and want him to come back and be with his family, but I'm leaning towards a neutral role. (Without knowing Roytheone's general Batman opinions.)
Speaking of which, thank you for making Selina a hero and not a villain! :3

I've noticed that a lot of the claimed roles have been somewhat ambiguous characters. Catwoman is a thief who is just as often an opponent to Batman as she is an ally, Harvey Bullock oscillates between being an ally to Batman and a guy who hates Batman, and Jason Todd is Jason Todd. It isn't easy to determine alignment just from the name, which is probably good for a Mafia game.

Roy is a smart owl, and the players are smart if they're just making stuff up.

Apparently I would have needed to read a lot more of the previous NeoGAF Mafia games in order to follow along today's breadcrumbing.

Not sure I really see the point in role-claiming in such an obtuse and round-about way.
Anyways, what are the current bets on Launch's current gambit. Is it a Kark-style gambit or is he trying to get a gossip chat started?

One of the scum is VERY popular. He is being visited by both the cop and the tracker!

Wait, town has a tracker? Once this game is over I'm going to need to reread it start to finish just to see what everyone's actions were.

So, did you think I was scum? I fell pretty solidly into the trap you outlined, but I swear that it was a logical decision on my part.
For the record, I actually loved the Batcomputer gambit and all of the breadcrumbing you did. It added some real color and entertainment to the game, which makes the experience more interesting. I am nowhere near experienced enough to tell if that sort of thing is a good play or not, but even if it is a bad play the fun it brings is worth it.

There is a big difference between people calling you an idiot and wanting to remove you in the confines of the game and you dropping out of the game. Those can't be compared.

I thought you were scum based on what I pieced together from the Day 1 stuff - the 12 votes and my reads (as much as I don't really like doing them). I didn't make the accusation for nothing (the rationale is right there in the thread), but it's still based on wobbly D1 info. Reading what you said now, yeah..I can see how you bumped into the trap unwittingly.

Apparently I let my imagination get the better of me when it came to inventing a power role that made sense. I now have half a mind to actually create a power role along the lines of your Batcomputer if I ever make a game though.
So, any scum reads you want to share? At this point I am half convinced that Sorian is mafia, but I haven't been able to figure out who mafia-Sorian's partners would be. Most of my early scum reads don't seem to be checking out as correct at all, so I don't have a lot of confidence in my scum-reading right now.

I see the difference between wanting to lynch someone because you think they're scum and not wanting them in the game. I don't see the point of consistently being like "You suck as a player" and then being like "How dare you leave/ragequit!" It's like asking "Why aren't you having fun while we shit on you?" I know I'm more sensitive than most in this community and it's honestly why I haven't played again. Maybe that's not how it felt for Kark, but as a (yes biased) spectator that's what it looks like.

There is a big difference between people calling you an idiot and wanting to remove you in the confines of the game and you dropping out of the game. Those can't be compared. I'm aware that I'm causing a lot of trouble to leave the game, and I have to say, I'm sorry for putting you in a tough spot and jeopardizing the game. I think the game was going well, and it was fun and interesting to play. As a ..well, Batman fan by osmosis, I think the theme was a lot of fun to get into. I hope that the game can continue (and really, it can't be much worse than WWE, lol), because it deserves it. However, mafia has the unpredictable element that you never know how personalities are going to clash. I have a problem with the way a certain player plays and argues and lords over every point; and it's actually kind of hard to describe what the problem is (certainly not without getting banned), because this game does have a pretty thin line between being a good player and being a dick. On top of that, how other players jump in to criticize me as a player in general (and not just in the bubble of this one game), and not look at the game and what I contribute more objectively. It's an uphill battle to combat a reputation (whether I earned it or not), and a player who posts 2x as much as I do to leverage that reputation against me and waste a day on arguments that go nowhere. So at some point, it just feels pointless to keep playing, and it certainly doesn't feel fun anymore.

Argh! I could not have died at a worse time... BTW, who did you investigate? I saw the speculation in the thread, but I'd love to hear about what you did from you. So long story short... I did check El Topo, he came up as Oracle. I also checked Coppanuva, and he came up as Poison Ivy. The only problem is that I got night killed...
When I was talking about how to deal with Camjo, I was basically checking to see what others thought about going after him or not. Because I was a name cop, I assumed that checking him would be a colossal waste of time. I assumed that he was going to come up as Robin (Jason Todd) or just Robin. Odds of him coming up as Red Hood seemed low, so I figured might as well wait it out and deal with him when the time came. I wanted to post a gif of the Batsignal lighting up without Batman in it to make my initial breadcrumb a bit more obvious while staying covert. I was going to have a rough time laying down the breadcrumb for today though, seeing as I had to try to find a way to post an image of Gary Oldman without posting a picture that looked like, you know, Gary Oldman. Was probably gonna try a pic of him playing Sid Vicious or something. I can't say I'm particularly surprised with how the day phase is going so far. Good luck to my fellow GCPD officers!

So at some point, it just feels pointless to keep playing, and it certainly doesn't feel fun anymore. One the one hand, i totally understand where you are coming from, and had a similar experience in the NX game (albeit for different reasons) and in hindsight I should have dropped out of that game instead of continue playing while having no fun at all. However, this is the second day in a row that the vote leader drops out early in the day and people remove votes from him, and scum is pretty frustrated by that, and I can't say I blame them. It's your task as scum to try and put suspicion on town players, but if every time you manage to do that, that person drops out and votes get removed from him solely because of that, you basically can't play the game. It's unfair for scum.
