Oh good, another reason to hate Splinter.
I'm running out of space here.

Besides The Witness I've been playing Trails of Cold Steel since that came out in Europe last week. I'm not that far in as I've been taking the chance to talk to every NPC after each story beat to hear their new dialogue. The Trails games have a slow pace which I really enjoy as it means that it's a huge shift when stuff starts to go down.

Just beat Bloodborne this morning so uhh... I dunno what to play. Probably continuing my run on Fallout 4 as well as Etrian Odyssey 4. Mix in some 2k16 too while I wait for Fire Emblem Fates to come (I lucked out and got a special edition even).

Alien Isolation I can tell it's a really good game, but at the same time I'm not sure if I can be bothered to play through it... I guess it's not really my kind of game? Nope, fuck it, game is dumb. Random woman sees me from across a massive room and immediately starts shooting at me. I go hide in a corner and wait for her to kindly fuck off. MEANWHILE the alien is just stomping around right above me. Doesn't seem to concerned by the sound of gunfire coming from the other side of the room. Random woman makes her way to where she last saw me, continues shouting, running around and being generally obnoxious. "OK" I thought, "this is fine. Any second now the alien will drop out of that vent, see the woman and have no choice but to wreck her shit for me". Wait for several more minutes, alien continues stomping but otherwise remains WILDLY uninterested in the noisy bint who clearly shouldn't have survived this long. Finally she wanders into the tiny corner I've been hiding in. Before she can turn around and see me I wrench her good. A couple of dull thuds, not that noisy though, RIGHT?? I start searching her body and FINALLY the alien drops out of the vent. That's fucking annoying, but I'm sitting in the kind of dead end it never wanders into so I'm safe, just got to wait for it to get bored and/or kill the other trigger happy asshole elsewhere in the room. NOPE, alien walks directly to my hiding spot and eats my face. Reset to checkpoint. Again. Running into stupid bullshit too often, fuck this game.

And btw it makes no sense for her to be shooting at me in the first place. The "justification" is that people are just trying to survive and are way past the point of trusting strangers. It gets a little immersion-breaking though when literally every person I come across will shoot on sight.

Oh I decided. I think I'll try out Transistor and play some of The Golf Club too.

I've heard good things about Transistor (that's by the people who made Bastion right?) but I'm waiting for it to get cheaper first.

I enjoyed what I played of Transistor when I got it from PS Plus. It's a far better game gameplay wise compared to Bastion though I need to get back to it at some point.

I've heard good things about Transistor (that's by the people who made Bastion right?) but I'm waiting for it to get cheaper first. I enjoyed my time with transistor. It is kinda repetitive, but the skill load out system is great, which keeps the combat fresh. The game is actually on sale for 5 bucks on steam right now!

I can also recommend Transistor. Overall, I think I enjoyed my time with Bastion more but Transistor definitely wins in combat gameplay.

Ah, good old XCOM. How I missed sucking at this game. Just got screwed over by my own dumb placement. Lost three troops and my sniper (with prayers to RNGus) had to finish off the last two enemies herself.

I just did a mission where an alien killed my just promoted corporal in a one shot, full health.
He died doing what he loved, getting phallic objects inserted into him.

So I also ended up playing Rocketbirds: Hardboiled Chicken this weekend. It's surprisingly fun. I remember looking at the trailer on Steam a few years back and thought the premise was hilarious (You're a commando chicken trying to assassinate a communist dictator penguin) and somehow got it in a game bundle. It's entertaining and I really like the aesthetic and music (they got some rock band to write the whole thing). Worth checking out IMO.

While the Super Bowl was going on, I decided to get back into League. Lost all 10 of my placement matches. I felt like Cam Newton.

I've heard good things about Transistor (that's by the people who made Bastion right?) but I'm waiting for it to get cheaper first. Looooved Transistor. Wasn't a fan of Bastion's camera + action combat, but Transistor got me from the first moment. 5/5 Still playing DriveClub. What an awesome game/great support by Evolution. Sony did good not cutting them loose outright (50% lay-off, but still.) Also bought Watch_Dogs, waiting for DL to finish. And my big semester break-project for the first time ever: Final Fantasy 7. First town area was super boring at times, but now past Sector 6 and the game picks up. Enjoying myself (5hrs in).

Mafia, obviously
Recently played through Antichamber - a recommendation from The Witness OT. It was... interesting. I enjoyed it as an exploration/maze game, but I'm a little unconvinced of the quality of the actual puzzles. Lots of inconsistencies so most things come down to trial and error more than logic. Still, worth a play through.
Started The Talos Principle yesterday, another Witness recommendation. It's good, although overall I think The Witness was better - it certainly impressed me more.
One thing I do enjoy more about Talos is the storytelling side. The Witness had a kind of story but was intentionally low-key, and all the pseudo-intellectual guff left a real sour taste in my mouth. Talos on the other hand puts a little more effort in to its back story. It's still low key but there are at least a few characters I can identify and care about ("Sheep", "DOG" for example). The various terminal conversations and the progression of that story line is also interesting and handled well, and the philosophical side of things is at least slightly grounded in reality (concerned with AI's and what defines a person).
My biggest complaint about Talos is it's been too easy for long. I completely cleared the first area (minus a couple of stars that I didn't even see) and am most of the way through the second. I'm sure the difficulty will ramp up significantly - it's already kind of started - so I look forward to seeing how that goes.
Oh and I hate the Tetris puzzles. Boring and pointless. Tried the first secret island area last night and got bored long before I'd finished unlocking the actual puzzle.

Oh, and Talos gets bonus points for letting me run fast. Never seen a game that lets you change your movement speed(s) before and I really like it.

I always have multiple games of different genres that I play "at the same time". Currently: -Bioshock 2: After Bioshock and Bioshock Infinite I just wanted to have played the whole series. Not bad so far, but i dislike that you, as a big daddy can be taken down so easily. They should have thought of another balancing method. -Anomaly 2: Yeah, plays like Anomaly 1 with a few slightly awkward extensions. Not that spectacular, but if you liked the original, it's ok. -ICO: Finally got an old PS3 and instantly bought the ICO/Shadow of the Colossus HD thingy. Interesting game so far. The most awesome thing honestly I think is how you have to hold R1 to hold your companion's hand (as opposed to toggle by pressing) and the small bumps the controller makes whenever you run together and you pull her a little bit. Sounds like straight from the Molydeux twitter account, but I think it's really effective. Oh, and Talos gets bonus points for letting me run fast. Never seen a game that lets you change your movement speed(s) before and I really like it. I miss the old Splinter Cells where you could scroll through 10 or so movement speeds with your mouse wheel (?)

I'm playing Phoenix Wright colon Ace Attorney colon Justice For All, currently on the last case. I love how Edgeworth knows about that bear plushie brand from overseas.
Is Rise from the Ashes (extra case from the first game) canon? Ema Skye was never mentioned again, and Gumshoe is about to get fired for a second time.

Ema has a few brief cameos in the later games. She's not mentioned in Justice for All as the first three games were originally on GBA in Japan then the extra case was later added when they were ported to the DS.

Played through undertale, got the "good" ending. Quite funny in places, but very tedious. Hated everything from Alphys onwards (mostly because Alphys won't stfu)

Started playing Diablo 3 again after season 5 started, but it's already slowing down and I'm bored again. Waiting for the season to end so my items will transfer, then I'll focus on NS and gear up my old wiz.
I also like FFXIV a lot, but unfortunately don't have that much time to play. It requires dungeon group play which isn't ideal for me right now as I'm a busy person, but the game is awesome.. and I don't consider myself done with it.
Thinking of trying Black Desert Online when it's available!

I played Broforce on PS4 last night, the port is shoddy. Input lag in a tight 2D platformer, lol.
I touched Galak-Z, it seemed pretty good. Will dive into it more.
Also still trying to get good at Nuclear Throne. It's not happening.
Jumping in D3 now and then when bored.
XCOM 2 is on hold currently, as with a number of other PC games, I'm holding off until I can upgrade.

Grim Dawn. 'Deathless' Bloodborne Blade of Mercy + Rakuyo run (Right now I'm at Blood Starved Beast, if I die late in the game I might not give a fuck) - Down to 4 vials to loot everything and clear through to Cathedral Ward (no running away like a pansy, only challenging guy I don't fight is that big axe dude because I can't seem to time my parries on those guys at all) Overwatch. Devil Daggers.

I'm not really playing anything right now. I just finished a run through Undertale with my wife. She burst into tears when (Undertale True Ending Spoilers) she realized that Asriel was going to turn back into a flower and be stuck in the underground. She demanded to know why we couldn't take him with us.) (My wife is a little emotional these days.) I keep thinking about either replaying 999/VLR to get ready for Zero Escape 3, or playing Danganronpa again on Steam, or finally digging into Bloodborne: The Old Hunters. Doesn't help that Black Desert Online, The Division AND Hitman all drop next week too. I'll probably end up doing the Division since I think most of my friends are going to be playing that.

Oh, I'll replay 999 and VLR before the next comes out, for sure.
Right now I'm playing Trials and Tribulations (Luke Atmey is the best pun) and Face Noir, a not so great point'n'click during the prohibition/mafia(!) era.

Eh, waiting for Hitman to be near completion before jumping in.
I was initially up for ordering early, but I always get frustrated by some episodes being more dense in content than others.
